Put the smiley patch on, it was amazing. His left eyebrow is so strange though, it seems like it's gonna form into a unibrow.

"But in all honesty, I think the face seems too big for some reason."

Okay, I can definitely take that. But I don't think I want him with a pencil neck.

"The nose seems really thick..."

Thick as in width? If it's referring to Takuya (the ref link) then yeah but not in this image. It goes back to what you said about the face being big and all. It's the same width as his eye (which is proportional).

"...and lips seem strange."

Fixed.

"I agree with Afro about the pinky as well."

I really did try to fix it... twice. The end results did not look so good, I'm afraid.

Renevatia: Solid colors would take away from the soft effect that I was going for. Since it's based on realism, there are no "solid colors." A thinner chin would make him look more feminine (refer back to big face). Lower shoulder would result in a very long neck. I did manage to bring back some highlights in his hair though. For the nose part, LINK. It's not smooth at all. Less of eyebrow? D: That would make him look more feminine too.

Sorry if I'm being difficult, but I think the whole "big face" thing is what's making me not like this.

He's pretty gorgeous.

With that aside, I like the highlights in his hair.

Version 5 looks perfect, I can't find anything that might need to be changed.

I didn't mean eyebrow lol, i meant the pink part (above the punctum) not sure what thats called.
and raising the chin doesnt make him look feminine, thinner chin does.

neck looks thicker than normal o.o , and thats what i meant by solid shading, instead of making the neck look like a flat gradiented surface
and, since hair is really close to the face, there should be some sort of a solid shadow line, as to confirm the existence of the hair...so to speak ;D

Version 6 added. I am NOT changing his hand for I have redrawn it completely and it is based COMPLETELY from a photo reference (courtesy myself). Removed hair from his left eye. Made his eyes smaller (MUCH better). Edited lips a bit.

Meh, some don't like it so it's gone in the final version. Trying to appeal to an overall crowd is tough.

looking through the progressions it's amazing how far you've come off of a work of art that I would have said looking incredible in the first place.

I am thoroughly impressed by your ability to create such beautiful art. Keep up the tweaks and you could have a masterpiece on your hands

Thanks peeps. If I do anymore tweaks it would be giving it a "complete" background, which I don't look forward to, LOL.

Also thank you so much for not being like 99% of the people who make art threads and cry and bitch when they get criticism. Personally the hands look a bit off to me but I'm no art student and I know they're very difficult to draw. The hand aren't bad at all but they don't looks as good as how you drew his face. Possibly give it more lighting?

Hmm? Did you see v6? I believe they have more depth than the face; however, I could be wrong. xD

Thanks. :}

Its a great piece of art.

Howeva, I am going to agree with Rene and say that shadowless hair is a bit odd.
Maybe its just the perception, but his eyebrows seem skewed.

I love the shading of the neck and the perception.

P.S.: I know, hands are hard to create.
