FFR is subculture. Within gaming culture, within rhythm/internet gaming culture, is FFR. Not everyone is going to get it.

I think there's a good reward system at work. It feels really good to AAA a tough song (or FC a tougher one). When you blackflag a song on the last note you may feel like you died a little (or a lot) inside.

It takes skill. The more you play the more you improve. It's also entertaining to listen to music (some you probably had no idea existed) while keeping a beat to the music. Also, you have a whole community that is also playing so you have something to measure your skill to. It's just plain ADD fun to hit buttons that fly up a computer screen.
