oh wow, i could never FC cia rave with 1 hand. your pretty good at that i must say

i play 2 hands because i find it easier and faster but i would think it is a matter of prefference. Thing is when you try masters only songs and such 2 hands would have the advantage. i play 2 hand spread using DF and JK

It just depends of what you like and what you want to achieve in this game.

Try two-handed to see what it looks like and decide which one you like the most. It's true that two-handed players who play spread style will be waaaay better than people like me or you who play one handed. You will never be able to AAA the hardest songs in the game as a one handed, but hey, I LOVE playing one hand and I'll always play like that. You can get really good like that. I tried spread but It's not as fun as one handed.

So just stick to the way you like to play and don't listen to people who are flaming you because you are one hand and that says that you should play 2 hand.

Personally for me I have to switch off. Sometimes one hand sometimes two. For somgs like Cruel Whole (which I still have to FC) I prefer two Only for the fact that the jump steps are difficlut to handle (for me). Then there are songs like Games We Played 1-5 which have limited jumps I prefer one hand. Also you have to think about you key configuration. If you have your hands too far away from each other it can slow you down. I know because I have to change that after I realized I wasn't getting any better that way. For me I use the home keys d,f,j,k. So one handed or two, you must still be a great player. I started out with one hand, now I switch back and forth.

I recommend switching to 2 hands. Not only are patterns more friendly, but you are using your index on both of your hands in most cases which can improve some speed you were lacking with 1 hand. If you find 1 hand works for you, then stay like that. Most incredible legit 1 handers switched to 2 hands eventually. Examples are Bluearrowll, DarkManticoreX2, etc.

It's all really your choice. Keep in mind 2 hands is a lot faster and easier to get better with.

If you want to test the speed difference between the two, try just hitting a roll like this using a one hand set up , and a two hand set up:

x...
.x..
..x.
...x
x...
.x..
..x.
...x
x...
.x..
..x.
...x

You should be able to hit them much quicker using a set up like "AS KL" , but it's still possible using the arrowkeys or numpad.

However each style has its advantages.

For example,

a one hander is more likely to do better on a song like AIM Anthem than a spread player.

(Proof: Zageron has a 6-0-0-1 FC, 3-0-1-0, but many spread players have a hard time getting a 30 or fewer req.)

Though spread players will be more adequate on Jump Stream.

I play one hand. I have not switched to two hands for many reasons including the one which was mentioned before. It just isn't as much fun for me. I remember I used to play standard songs as my top songs but now I can play any song in the game; well I can comforably play VD and most Challenging songs, the rest is a very hard challenge but always fun for me. My best advice to you is do what you think is comfortable. I find that most people who switch to spread have problems going back to one hand because both styles require a different mind set. In any case, do what you want to do. You can get good at both ways; what i have done is a clear example of how far you can go plus all the other amazing One-handers out there that surpass me. Good luck with whatever you choose; above all, have fun.

One handing is done for fun. If you want to be the best you can possibly be switch to spread.

However by switching to spread the competition gets blown away by the pros, and in this case you are the competition.

Two handed players usually prevail on FFR, it's as simple as that.

Note that I said "USUALLY".

I disagree in a way..

How many 2 handers have AAA'ed AIM Anthem. Now, how many 1 handers have? You probably just don't know many impressive 2 handers. =3

EDIT: This can also be compared through SDG's. Although one handers may have a better time comboing AIM with less effort, it is true that once 2 handers gain some speed, AIM Anthem is cake.

It depends on what i'm watching if I use 2 hands, but I usually use one.

For cerial though, you're not going to get very far 1 handed. If you're 1 handed go watch a video of ThaoR and then think about it.

AAAing, maybe they haven't, but I can certainly say with confidence that jacks are piss easy one handed (it's kind of logical if you think about it). With practice, obviously.

If you wish to get really, really good, then two hands would probably be the way to go. Now that isn't to say that you can't get any good with one hand (especially if you play four fingered) - it's even quite fun to play. It's all up to personal preference, really. I prefer one hand because it feels more comfortable to me and I enjoy playing with that style immensely - I don't care whether it will hinder me or not.

Switch to 2 hands right now, you will never get really good with 1 hand.

Playing with 2 hands makes the game so much easier.

Play 2 hands for a few games since it gets a little while to get use to. If you feel that playing with 1 hand is still easier then stay with the 1 hand.
