i just had a quick question about ffr, and i never really noticed this...
i was using ffr the beta and opera web browser and i couldnt help but notice this thin line under your score during the song. right when the grey stops there is this little strip of black and it slowly fills up throughout the song, filling up faster when more steps are sent and slower when less are sent, and eventually at the end of the song it hits full and the song is over. is this supposed to be some type of progression bar? because i never noticed it. and if it is, then lol its pretty inconviniently placed. |

I also noticed this when I was at my friends. Then it went away.

thats kinda what i meant, like how much of the song youve progressed through, hence progression bar, yet it is actually dependent on arrow depletion and not time lapse.

It's a time bar. I'm guessing it's based off the total notes since I've, also, noticed how fast it progress according to how many notes fly by.
Admins are well aware that it's not in the best spot, but it's there to give an idea, and as a little experiment to see if it'd lag the game, or cause any problems. Hopefully it'll be relocated.

I believe you answered your own question. It is filling faster when there are more notes.

I think he was wondering why it would be doing that because technically, the bars are supposed to go by units of time and not arrows.

It sorta kinda makes sense to do it by numbers of arrows, because
1. the game reports the time of the song, not the duration of the part filled with arrows and 2. the more arrows there are left the more chances you have to screw up, so it makes sense to bias it by arrow density

The timer bar is supposed to help you know how far you are into the song, not how many arrows you've hit.
