New Halo 3 Achivements?!

So I logged onto Halo 3 today and there was an auto-update. And then I'm playing and all of a sudden I start unlocking achivements like crazy! I was like "WTF i already had all the Multiplayer ones!" and then i relized that the new updated added like 750 GP worth of achivement to Halo... Which is interesting. I looked at them and for the most part they seem really easy. Just wondering what everyone else though?

I actually agree with you I don't like Halo 3 as much as Halo 2. In fact I doubt i would have found this out except for I had a friend come over and all he wanted to do was play halo so I finally gave in. Lol but if it wasn't for him It would have been a while before I found out cuz I rarely play now. Mostly CoD4 and Gears for me

Halo 3 came out a year ago today so they're putting some new **** out, I dunno what yet because I haven't checked. But yeah not long ago there were rumors about the extra gamer points, and like a Mystic map pack or some ****, I dunno whats out now though.

They were supposed to be making an announcement about a new Halo game or some **** today/this week holy **** brb checking

Bungie has a Teaser of what looks like to be a "work inprogress" next-gen halo game -_-..

they also say that some of the playlists are being taken away..like swat, head to head, rocket race..and some others. new updates to maps i think, and their doing something with MLG. New DLC maps are coming (of course, and i dont know when).

The teaser looked like the scene in Halo 2 where the Covenant ship jumped in Earths atmosphere. I forget what the city was called, beginning of the game after your first scarab encounter.

My curiosity is piqued.

Yep I was right, the city was New Mombasa and it was from that level in Halo 2.
In the teaser one of the security cameras sees this:



What the significance is, however, I don't know. I don't think it's a next-gen anything, however, since they flash Halo 3 on the screen. In the video you keep seeing pods flying down from the sky which could suggest ODST's (Orbital Drop Shock Troopers), so maybe this is something squad-based, featuring the Marine's conflict against the Covenant on Earth while the Master Chief was doing his **** elsewhere. I dunno, I'm just gonna keep editing my thoughts in here

It's also possible you simply play as another Spartan, I can't remember if there were any alive on Earth at this time, most of them are dead at this point and the others I remember are occupied on Onyx, but theres no reason to say that there can't be any elsewhere, ONI is always doing their ****, maybe theres another secret project going on on Earth.

If they had us play as the Arbiter I certainly wouldn't mind a different Spartan, could be fun.

there was no other Spartans on Earth, thats for sure. It would be intresting to have a squad based version, but would it be inbetween the story or before, or after?

this will have us thinknig for awhile =P

Well. They make a big deal about the drop pods, and there is that final one that flies at the screen, I wonder who is in it. Someone could be returning to Earth just in time to fight I dunno, but Spartans do fit in those things.

As far as I remember from the Halo novels, there was one other spartan left, frozen in deep space. I think Linda was her name, but I don't remember, and I don't feel like rereading the Halo novels.

They announced the achievements in the previous bungie.net update. Read Bungie.net and check their forums. You won't find anything here that they won't know there.
