D&D
You guys have a whole section devoted to gaming, but you forgot the most quintessential game of them all D&D. You should add it PLZ. Now you may proceed to laugh away critics.
I'm sure there is people who play D&D here. If so contact me I've got a question.

I've tried playing D&D...but I just cant get into the whole Role Playing thing...it's too creepy for me. But I dont think D&D is mainstream enough to have it's own Forum.

Bah, I play. I just started last week but I'm willing to answer any questions about characters.
It truely is the best RPG ever. I'm going to play again in about 10 minutes, so I won't be on again for a few hours. Q |

D&D is friggin awesome. As Q said, it's truely the best RPG ever. You can customize your character like no other. Give him a personality. It rocks. My math teacher DMs D&D games. I'm gonna have to see about joining a campaign sometime.

DM's late. I'm sad.
Anyway. I'm running a Half-elf Bard. Luckily, I rolled an 18 Charisma. Too bad I'm still level 1 and didn't really have time to equip properly. Q |

RE: D&D
What exactly do you do in D&D? I don't understand, but I don't think I would find it fun for very long.

You basically do what you want to do int it. My friend pissed on a corpse once.LOL! Burned down doors, kill(correction try to) anything you want to. If you are a fan of any RPg games take my word for it you would like it.

RE: D&D
There's a DM who basically reads off scenarios for your characters. You then try to finish and get to the goal of the scenario. You can do whatever you want to try to get to that goal. It's extremely fun in that matter.
Most people play in a town, at least that's what I did when I played. We played in Ravenholm or something similar to that. It's basically where all the quests take place. Yes, an imaginative village/town/city. D&D is fun simply because you can do whatever the fizzuck you want. You start by creating a character through simple rolling of dice, that's how you get your stats. Then you pick what special skills you want and gender/race blah blah blah. Then you do your shit. |

RE: D&D
You choose from a list of races to start, then you choose from a list of classes, each of which has its own awesome abilities and spells. My friends and I are creating a world for our campaign. We make the maps of the cities, decide how much population and gold it has, if it has a guild, what kind of power source it has, everything. Yet another example of how in-depth D&D is. It never ends either just about. You can keep adding on and on and on and on and on and on......

RE: D&D
So wait, are there no rules? How do you know if you're actually doing the quests if the DM is just making it up as you go? Like, what kinds of things might you have to get around to complete a task?

RE: D&D
That is at the DM's discretion. They plan out the game ahead of time. Doing things like rolling for the monsters Hp, they have to make out a plot, and yes there is rules, but they are like the matrix some can be bent others broken. Say youur so powerful you destroy the whole town militia by yourself, then the DM may say that now you have a bounty on your head, and your wanted everywhere on the continent. You'd be screwed. So there is a balance of things.
As far as the DM making it up as he goes well some parts you do. Say you decide to whip out your penis and piss all over the ogre attacking you obviously the DM didn't prepare for this, but in most cases the DM's got everything covered. Getting to finish a quest.Hmmmmm. It goes back to D&D being versatile it may be anything from killing a badA dragon, to finding a staff, to traveling to the abyss to fight a great demon, to planting flowers for Grandma Opie. Depends on your DM's discretion.

RE: D&D
Nope. You use miniatures to represent monsters and players. My miniatures are made out of pewter. There is nothing involoving cards in D&D. You have to have an imigination, and you need to be able to sit down and read a book. Considering there are three rule books, each with about 300 pages.
