Default who/how was/ created the universe

im sure this question has popped up many times before but its probably too far back it'd be frustrating to look for it.

Well i just want to know people opinions because i love to hear them
i want to know what you think and explain why you think so.
If i think you are wrong then ill say something
i dont have a whole idea about how it was created thats why im asking
i want to fill in all the blanks
Another point alot of people come at is did it ever have a begining and always was
or like scientists say there was the "big bang" which i do not fully understand
I want religous people to post here so please do
so tell me what you think and DONT FLAME

Default RE: who/how was/did created the universe

God created it somehow. He spoke and stuff came into existance. I try not to understand why things are the way they are. It really is pointless, because human minds are weak, there are many things we can't comprehend. So I just say that it was created by God.

I can see this thread easily turning into a Creationism vs. BigBang/Evolution thread again... so I'm not going to get involved yet. Button.. your posts are always frustrating to look at... if you really want to know about the big bang, you should google it and go read about it... don't expect people to explain it all to you... because that would take up pages upon pages of posts..

I will just say the creationist and god argument is an excuse to explain the unknown.. and now (today) it's outdated and irrelevent in my opinion.

It's possible there was a big bang, or multiple big bangs... It would seriously validate the theory that the universe is infinite and why it is constantly expanding, then eventually starting over again.

I'm not very religious but..

Sometimes I do wonder about a higher power that created everything. What caused the "big bang"!? Maybe there really is a God and he invented beginnings.

Just a small thought of mine..

These aren't complicated... fairly straightforward sites.

If anyone is seriously interested in learning about this stuff, they should check out Stephen Hawking's book: The Theory of Everything - The Origin and Fate of the Universe.

Funny how you suggest reading the writings of a big theist.

button. STOP DOUBLE POSTING. if you do not start using complete sentences, i will delete every post you make here.

the reason aedak gave you links to big bang websites is that is a fairly complicated idea to try and explain. being a physics minor (multiple astrophysics courses) i know alot about this... but i talk about it ALL THE TIME. and its really a pain in the ass for me to try and type it all out.

As of right now, my creation belief is fairly unorthodox. It follows a VSL theory during the early stages of the bang (by early stages i mean the first fraction of a second) which explains why there is a steady expansion now. If there was a CSL like there is now, there is no explanation on why the universe hasn't collapsed back upon itself from gravity or the reverse, expanded out infinately.

If you want a good book on this subject, try reading Faster Than The Speed Of Light by Joao Magueijo

and for once... i agree with Aedak.

Well just because he's a theist doesn't mean I don't think he's not a brilliant man.. and it doesn't mean I do not enjoy reading his material. I find string theory fascinating.

Button: I would answer your question but it's too large a question to answer.. It would take a lot of time and effort to explain the big bang theory to you, and honestly it just doesn't seem worth it.
