Everyone is all the same to my parents. I mention someones name and they're like "Oh is that the guy you met on the internet?"

I tell them..yeah I meet a lot of people on the internet be more specific =\

It is a cellphone. :P My dad is just the one who pays for it, and he likes to look on the internet at the minutes I use.

Ug, my mom still doesn't like me chatting online with people...EVEN THOUGH SHE KNOWS THEY ARENT 50 YEARS OLD, only Eva is.

Here's the time when it changed from caring to not.

When I moved my computer into my room.

That had to be like 6 years ago. I've gone through 3 computers since then. All you need is a lockable door and all your stuff behind it and you're set. I don't need to leave my room for anything besides school and food.

Edit - You also need good excuses for explaining what you are doing that you cannot let them see what's on the monitor (I really don't want them to see my anime or this site, don't ask why) (And I turn off the monitor everytime someone knocks at the door as a reflex now). I've gotten in a really big argument about how it's my computer and my privacy. I bet she assumes I like teh pronz. That sucks worse, I suppose... Eh. My excuses have always been like "I'm talking to (A friend of mine that she really approves of) about some homework" or "I'm writing a paper that's not due until next week" (she loves this one).

I don't feel like buying a cell and paying like 30$ a month and not using it more than 5 times. I'll get one when I actually need it. But yeah im allowed whatever I want now it's my own money.

EDIT: It's actually a good thing though when your away from home,but just make sure you use it enough to make it even worth paying for when you do buy one.

That excuse works, but how long have you kept it up for?

6 years now. It's only been slightly revised to fit a college schedule, but it's basically the same thing.

I was about to mention this after i read the first post.
My dad doesnt really care, but i'm not allowed to play stepmania. He says it's what messed up "his" computer a while ago, when i know what the real problem was. I play it when he's not home though. My dad knows i post here, and talk to people i dont know online. My parents dont carea bout anime, or anything else. As for that. I MADE A VIDEO OF ME HANGING A PENGUIN.

Ask for it later.

quite amusing from my perspective all this

I have my own place and have lived on my own or with a partner for the last 6 years so i realy never care about anything like that i make my own money and i spend it how i want.

The strange part for me is wondering how my parents would have reacted because when i was your age jursey people did not realy have pc's and the internet was slow and fuxed in the UK i would have still had an Aminga back then so i never really spoke to online friends growing up i was to be home by 11pm and after that i never saw or spoke to anyone.

I think the fact that all you guys can do this is great i think it can only be a good thing but i also understand why parents dont understand.

Aedak you around my age what do you think to all this (i did read your other post btw)

It's not really a big enough deal that it would be brought up in typical conversation...

Although my dad has seen me play stepmania and knows I'm really good.

My mom is 100% korean so that's probably self-explanitory

Umm yeah my parents have no clue about what I do on the internet... they've seen me play FFR/SM a few times and they were like "hey that's like the game you play at the movies..." and I just respond 'yaaah...' and she'll leave. Come to think of it I'm not even sure if they know I talk to all these people, but hey if they don't say anything about it then I'm all good
