Did anyone see that old lady they interviewed at the game? She's bought season tickets for like the past 30 or 40 years.

Cards have no pitching? As a team they were either 2nd or 3rd in the NL in ERA over the regular season.

Well red sox are up 3-0 and dont give me that "well if the red sox can do it why cant the cardnals do it" wanna know why? because Boston is a better team. And yes the cardinals have NO pitching they are so bad its unbelieveable, if the astros made it however boston would be in trouble and it would be a close series. St. louis it doesnt matter that ur home record was 6-0 boston comes to play every single game. I have my broom ready for some sweeping tommorow...teams down 0-3 have won once in 26 times. it would be 1-26 that the cards can do it too. Not very good odds. Boston will win the world series the curse will be over boston will be burned down and we can all look ahead to next year where the team everyone hates (the yankees) will buy every great starting pitcher and prance their way into the playoffs.

I think it's pretty impressive that the "no pitching" Cardinals made it to the World Series without their number 1 starter in Chris Carpenter.
I'm a Red Sox fan, but saying the Cardinals have no pitching is just stupid because statistically their staff was one of the very best in the league this year.

PRB... you statements are so biased its not even funny. please use real facts when trying to back up an argument.
yes, the red sox are almost guarenteed to win this world series. but to say that the cardinals are a bad team is just flat out wrong. they won 105 games this year, most in the majors in the past 5 years. they had the best batting average and most runs scored in the national league. their pitching was also top 5, like kilga said (not going to both going to espn.com and finding out their exact ranking). they obviously did alot of things right to get as far as they have this season, and expect big things from them in the next few years. the fact is, boston is playing on such a high wave right now, its not even funny. and sometimes, that is the most important thing. they are HOT. and yes, they also have a very good team.

Biased statements are what makes the world go round. In the last 3 games the cardinals have been bad all around. All the sports analysist and papers said the cardinals would win all 3 games at home vs. boston. Sure home field is a huge advantage. Boston has been proving everyone wrong since they swept the angels. Switch the Yankees and the Cardinals and i really think the cardinals would struggle to win 90 or more games. And the yankees would get 100 or more. I think the NL easier than the AL. Im just not seeing any life in the cardinals

see... that was a much better statement. good.
and yea... the NL is weaker than the AL, but if the Yankees were in the NL, then the AL would be weaker. the only reason the AL is so powerful is because they all have to spend more money to try and compete with the Yankees. the NL doesn't have any 1 dominant team like that to try and keep pace with. and that is completely not true. the Baseball Tonight guys (peter gammins, jon kruk, tim reynolds) thought the series would go back to boston, but was thinking 2 of 3 more than a sweep. that certainly could still happen, although it may or may not happen. the voting public put it at 61% that the cards would win 2/3, while 3/3 was 2nd at like 18 or 19%. that was from last night's poll on ESPN. also, just cause the weatherman thinks there is a 95% chance its going to rain doesn't mean it will. no one is perfect. the sox have played an excellent series (apart from the 8 errors at home).

now that the cards are down 3-0 i dont think they have any life in them to bring it back to boston. They may win tonight which would be good because no team wants to be swept in the W.S ... but i dont think they can bring it back to boston

props to Ortiz for not screwing up at first base. I think he's played 20-40 games this year on first base.

34 during the 2004 season. 2nd lowest fielding percentage amongst 1st basemen (probably the whole ML, but not certain) with at least 30 games in the field. Mike Piazza was the lowest.

his knees got bad a few years ago and he had to move to 1st base. he's played there for 3-4 years.

Well they played Piazza sparingly at catcher so he could get the All Time Catcher HR record (done this year.) So he'll play first from now on, most likely.
Congratulations Boston, and thank you for knocking the Yankees out in a dramatic fashion. Go Jays.

That had to be the single worst World Series I have ever seen. Nobody should ever get swept in the World Series...ugh...I would say more, but then I won't stop.
But congrats Boston.

that was awesome
my whole school is like going crazy (and is very sleep deprived) My first period physics class was an awful lot similar to naptime in kindergarten now all the sox have to do to wrap the deal is make an offseason trade with newyork for one of their sluggers (arod sheffield matsui etc) then we just keep them out of the WS winner circle untill 2090 that would be awesome!
