Omegix, thats just because the Cubs/White Sox have worse streaks than the Red Sox, and no ambition to try and actually win one.

With a streak this high, the Red Sox NEED to keep losing. Seriously, they're easily in triple-digit range; they can't stop now. Same with the cubs. Curses should be permanent, as far as I'm concerned, but if you're gonna break it, at least set some sort of record for longest streak.

Anyway, I still can't understand how the Yankees blew it. I just hope that the Astros win the NLCS so that I won't feel dirty rooting for the NL in the world series if the Cardinals go.

Guido... BOTH chicago teams have longer streaks for not winning a world series. the white sox last won the year before the red sox, 1917. 1918 was the year of the Chicago Black Sox and the whole fixing scandal... although no one ever talks about the Curse of Shoeless Joe Jackson... i guess its because the white sox have always been terrible, whereas the cubs and red sox have had good teams that lost heartbreaking series'. and, the Cubs haven't won since 1908.

now... the REAL kicker to all this is... the cubs and white sox have won the WS twice, the red sox have won it five times. the phillies have only won it once, albiet in 1980 (and they have only ever been in 5 WS, while 9 for boston, 10 for the cubs, and 4 for the white sox)... another note, the last time a team from chicago has been to a WS was in 1959.

The reason I didn't mention the White Sox (besides not knowing that they haven't won in a long time) was because, as you said, nobody cares about them. PLUS, the BoSox and the Cubs got "cursed", while the ChiSox are just bad.

As for Pennsylvania teams, they're all failures.

I've never been a real sports fan ever because I really find it boring and probably the most overrated thing in the world next to boobs, but I still think that's pretty cool =O

I agree with you somewhat. I think watching sprts is boring and overrated but I love playing them. I do usually watch the important games though.

Guido... that is why i did mention the ChiSox, is because they ARE cursed. reread what i said.. Curse of Joe Jackson. no one ever calls it that, or talks about it because they have always been so bad... but the ChiSox last won a WS in 1917, and the BlackSox scandal was in 1918. if that doesn't add up to a curse, i don't know what does. its the same thing as the RedSox. they won in 1918, and sold Babe Ruth in the offseason.

i dont watch sports to pay attention to who is winning or not. I watch as an excuse to kill some hours with the boys consuming cheap microbrewery beer and eating chips and sub sandwiches.
