the rules in the Netherlands works well, IMO. you can't smoke in public. there are stores/cafe's where you can buy in moderation and sit and smoke legally. that is a good policy.

I could waste my time going and googling a study. or i could use simple knowledge of biology and chemistry. When you inhale marijuana you inhale smoke. Smoke contains carbon, more so than most cigarettes since most people smoke it unfiltered thru a pipe or a joint. Carbon in the lungs is what causes lung cancer. Its especially harmful when (as many pot smokers do) you hold it in your lungs as long as possible.

...But for some people who cannot grasp the idea of delayed consequences don't care. It's like you getting onto FFR instead of doing your homework. You don't care at the moment but later you'll say "oh crap, that was a waste of time".... and you'll keep on doing it. Smoking is just worse.

Smoking is not a prime source of income for the government. Taxes are. What they should do is tax cigarettes a whole lot. Good for government, people smoke less. A new drug needs to come out and replace cigarettes. One less addictive and smells better and whatever. Just to get rid of smoking. Create a bigger, but less costly problem to force the other one out.

To be honest, a person like you needs to be rejected from the hospital to die in a hole. You wanna smoke, fine, get cancer, and die. Thats what you get from killing that many people with your dumb ass second hand smoke.

I agree people shouldn't smoke, but the only thing I disagree with is refusing operations on people that got something from smoking. That's harsh. And plus, people would get angry; say it was you're brother that needed an operation, but he was refused because the illness was caused from smoking and he was left to die. That would'nt go too well with you or you're family, would it?

Should I care about someone who tried to kill me by smoking near me? I mean, if they actually tried not to hurt anyone while smoking, and just couldnt stop no matter how hard they try, then yes, I wouldn't reject their treatment.
But if they go smoke, have the doctors cut a hole in their neck and they smoke again, that's just plain stupid.

FYI smoking is extremely addictive and very difficult to quit. Just because someone can't stop smoking doesn't make them a bad person.

Enigma, I agree with Jellidog. I'm not trying to criticize you or anything, but, well, imagine if you were in the smoker's position. It doesn't matter whether they're just gon smoke again after being cured. As long as they're still alive, I think it's worth it for them to get healed and at least have a chance to start over, you know? I agree that it's dumb for someone to smoke and dig themselves into a hole in the first place, but they deserve a second chance and should be able to get help in getting out of their hole if they can't do it on their own. People who claim they're too addicted to quit, well, they need an extra push. They're not gon get anywhere without it.

SMOKING IS BAD FOR YOU !!!!!!!!!!!!! lol I have freinds who smoke a boyfreind who smokes I smoke my whole family smokes so I can sit here and tell you that smoking is bad it burns your eyes and damages your lungs it can give you all kinds of deseases Emphyzema (trust me you don't want that my mom has it) and I know that alot of you are going to be like " she smokes so she has no room to tell us this " I'm just warning you that if you don't smoke don't ever start I sing in a choir and smoking has ruined my voice, I mean I can still sing but I can't hit notes that I used to be able to hit because of how badly damaged my lungs are so for all you who don't smoke..............DON'T EVER START IT'S BAD FOR YOU REALLY REALLY REALLY BAD !!!!!!!!!!!! - Tifanie 8)

I agree with Jam, though. About the whole "Who cares if I smoke, leave me alone and let me die" thing. I think that's stupid and ignorant.
