I've been rolling this around in my head for a while and I've been wondering if the type of music you listen to can have a significant impact on your view of world issues (politics, racism, etc.). I feel that the music thats had the largest impact on my views has to be the Dead Kennedys, after listening to them for a while I've been realizing how terrible racism/facisim is and also how filthy politics can be. (If you aren't familiar with the Dead Kennedys they are NOT an "Anarchy Punk" band like the Sex Pistols...The message they promote is to end racism, famine, unnecessary conflict, and to clean up politics and end corruption.) (Also, if you do hear some of their songs it would be good to know that many of their messages are delivered in a sarcastic manner, like the songs "I kill children" about the KKK killing black children and "Kill the Poor" about the dangers of advancing our weapons unnecessarily and that discrimination on the poor needs to end.)
A little quote I like: "OH YES ANARCHY IS SUCH A CONCIEVABLE FORM OF GOVERNMENT! THAT WAY THERE'S NO RULES AND EVERYTHING IS FREE AND WE CAN SMOKE POT AND LISTEN TO GOD SAVE THE QUEEN ALL DAY!" (sorry about the caps, it sounds right if said loud and sarcastically)
