Default If You're Skilled With Computers Please Read This!

I just got my new homemade computer last night, but I'm having a problem with it. When I boot it up I get the Win XP loading screen, if finishes loading but this is where it all goes weird. My monitor suddenly goes null as if I shut it off. If anyone has any idea what is happening I'd love to hear it please...But no, there is no evil button imp in my monitor, I checked.

Default RE: If You

You signal to your monitor is getting lost. Try a cpl things here.
A: Another monitor
B: Go into safe mode and see if you load then
C: (if B works) Reinstall your video drivers
I have had this problem as well. I run dual monitors and every once in a while my digital display will be overridden by my analog monitor. I just reset and it works. But your video driver does not sound like it is working correctly. You signal is not getting sent to your monitor.
OR the windows program is not actually going into windows but is shutting down once everything loads, which happens because windows is not perfect. But try another monitor and then try the safe mode.

wait, this is home-made? well i duno about home-made but i had the same problem with my computer once. i got it and i installed the cooporate edition of nortan antivirus (realy sux) because my dads company gives him it for free. then i shut it off. then whenever i turned it on the moniter either shut off or the comp would freeze rite when it hit the desktop. so i thot about my recent programs and i decided that since it was the only thing i got that it was the problem. so i put the back-up disk in and it loaded the computer like when i first got it. then i didnt have n e problems. now if it is home-made then i have no idea what ur gona do.

Does your entire system shut off, or just your monitor?

If it's your entire system, you probably have a really insufficient power supply that can't handle the voltage needed to load everything at first.

If it's just your monitor I can't help you there X_X

That's what happened to me when I spilled Propel on my laptop. Probably something to do with the monitor settings. Do what the told you.

Are you sure? If you see the windows boot up it doesn't sound like your monitor is busted but that your frequency signal is ut of range like punn said. Used to have the same problem with my old monitor,
