I personally prefer DDR MAX2 over all of the other games, but that's mostly because I really enjoy the songs and the interface.

I actually liked max2 quite a bit... (mainly because of breakdown, tsugaru, twilight zone, and a few others) but if you're into most of the originals and more 'popular songs' and whatnot, then go for max or extreme.

Konamix
Oh? I didn't think konamix was that great. You have to enter one specific section and once you're in the section, you have to stay in that one for the like next three songs. which is so freaking annoying. Song selection is really small too btw.

DDR Extreme Japanese version. You will need a mod chip (magic slide) but it is well worth it in the end.

Konamix is fine for a beginner, but it has shitty judgement, no speed mods, and a semi-annoying interface, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who was familiar with DDR. But what Konamix has going for it is a lot of really good songs.

In my opinion, all of the home DDR games, except for the original Dance Dance Revolution for the Playstation, are pretty good. I really want to get my hands on the DDR Konamix version, though

i have extreme and the song list isn't too hot. my favorite is still konamix, just make sure once you unlock all songs you go to options and change it to all music.

If you want a beginning DDR, get the games in this order:

4. DDR Extreme (USA)

3. DDR MAX 2

2. DDR MAX

1. DDR Extreme (Jap.)

The reason I put them in this order is so by time you get the Konami Originals down pat in the American versions, you'll feel right at home with the import. Also has anyone heard about the final mix of DDR Konami is doing called DDR Festival?

Chromer,

Everyone has heard of DDR Festival by now.
It's not the final mix, either. NOWHERE has Konami said that.

Thats kind of ironic because didn't Konami Representatives said

that DDR Extreme will be the last mix of DDR because we are tired of the series and we want to move on?
So I'm only assuming this will be the last mix. Cause we all know there's one more Paranoia that hasn't been released in Arcade. If your smart, you can figure it out yourself.
