Your RAM is quite low for an XP, since XP eats a lot of RAM.

I suggest getting more.

yea.. and that proccesor is extremely outdated... I suggest getting a low end p4, or maybe something more if you want to spend money..

Oh yeah...go out and buy a P4 chip...just shove it in there without even checking if your motherboard is compatible...that'll sure work.

Chances are, if you bought your computer off the shelf, there's not much you can do for your CPU, which, unfortunately, is the source of the problem. I would check with your manufacturer to find the speed of your RAM (or you can reboot, it will say during the boot process), then make sure you have another RAMBUS slot and get yourself another stick of 256. I'm not sure how much it'll help with FFR, but you'll definitely see improvements in other areas.

Other than that, do all the usual 'update flash, check for spyware', blah blah. Oh, and make sure it's on low quality, you have no idea how many people don't do that.

I have that exact same problem ><. Though I reformatted and put 2000 in there. It runs a little faster, but still lags.

I woudl suggest hitting the Q symbol in the upper left hand corner to lower the quality and make it go norma speed ;P.

I even have 512 MBs of RAM, but I'm thinking of getting another 512 MB Stick . But before that I'm going to have to get a new computer somehow (I got a AMD Duron 703 Mhz) which just hurts me when I say it.

Run AstonShell and switch your main browser to FireFox

Unless you are a fan of the fullscreen beta version with the PowerRESOLUT Powerflasher program then making these change will make it run much faster and then it doesn't utilize as much RAM or processor resources. It will run better, I'm playing on crappy 800 mHz machines with like 128 RAM at school and I run just fine. Additionally Astonshell will increase the life-expentancy of your system.

Also check your system processes with CTRL+ALT+DELETE and check to see if your commit charge is low, if it is too high or too close to the maximum values, kill some unneeded processes and you will be running the game better. There has been some system processes that have been known to give bad memory leaks lately for some users, so kill all un-needed processes.

And lastly, if it is your internet that may be bogging it down, use "tracert" to flashflashrevolution.com in command prompt and see how long it takes to get there. Then ping flashflashrevolution.com, and if you are using fast internet and it's being crappy, go into command prompt and type in:

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

If you still are having issues with this after implementing these basic fixes PM me and I will help you out. (Your system specs look fine to run ffr)

I'm on a 2 MBit Cable Connection through a Wireless Linksys Router, I think it might be the router cuasing it...but when I was at my dad's two summers ago, I was behind a router also....

Then again I heard Wireless routers sucked so that could also be the problem .

Alkaiser: Firefox will not integrate in the manner that IE does with XP. You can't totally get rid of IE while running XP, and I doubt this person is willing to switch OSs for a flash game, no matter the quality. And plus, .swf files run harder/faster/better/stronger in IE. Though I will not deny Firefox is better in general, it just won't hold up for this situation.

Firefox uses less resources and runs faster. It integrates just the same if you set it as the default browser.

Especially if you are using SP2 it [Firefox] integrates better. In my Networking Technologies we aren't allowed to use Internet Explorer becaues of it's BHO-Hacks, unability to protect against downloads, and overall slowness.

SWF files run massively fast on my machine at school, just the same as IE. IE fucks your system because it is so unsecure, shit, there's even a memory leak somewhere in it, and it uses up unneeded virtual memory until it does its built in memory release function or you minimize the window.

Astonshell is not a new OS either, it's a new shell and a somewhat change in the filesystem for XP. It runs exactly like XP, except your desktop becomes more like eye candy, and you can make specialized shortcuts, it's really the same thing with a new look, AND less resource usage.

I would suggest it for the person with low resources because you can make Astonshell look and work like the original xp theme using 20% of the resouces explorer.exe does.

So, in suggesting firefox and astonshell, I was attempting to: lower processors resources used, lower amount of page file space used, lower overall commit charge, and keep his life expectancy of his system up, and speed up his comptuer's ability to play FFR.

IE is, in general, a terrible browser. I have Firefox set as my default (but ALAS, no perfect integration with XP) browser. But, people tested framerates for FFR in different browsers, and IE tested out on top, by a more than noticible margin!

So, that is just my suggestion. If you want to play FFR, use IE for it. Just not for anything else.
