You are talking too specifically here. Racism can, but not always be, about superiority. Racism and discrimination is heavily based on stereotypes. When talking about stereotypical racism, it is, or can be to a certain degree, valid. Outrageous to the point where is it "vehemently opposed"? I think not. Stereotypes come from and roots from facts and generalities about a particular race. Most of the time, it is exaggerated and hyperbolic, but nevertheless have the potential to contain an element of the truth. I can say "All Asians are good at math." (I'm going to use a good stereotype here, but you think of the bad ones.) which can be quite true, yet it doesn't account for the Asians who are not good at math (like me).
A example would be the plan for an African-only school here in Ontario, Canada. The school board was aware that only 40% of the African-Canadian students passed high school. Hence, they decided to construct such a school to aide solely African-Canadians, with some education of their heritage. This, to many people, was considered highly racist to both the African-Canadians, for their spotlight isolation, and for other races, for not being recognized or considered to be educated on their own heritage. What makes this valid to be taken into consideration is the measly 40% passing rate for African-Canadians. Of course, the anti-racism supporters won, but amazingly, it was a almost tied vote for and against.

racism only causes problems since it is nothing but disrespect for certain races which pollutes the minds of the highly susceptiple populacewho then take those veiws to more extreme actions which does nothing but harm the nation as a whole and how is rascism not harmful?

When people disagree over something, traditionally they have at least -some- vaguely valid reasons to support their belief.
