Yes, I believe that's all been established. But what's the point of this thread? Is it like a social group?

This thread will get locked as is... so let's get a bit more sophisticated and critical instead of making this a postwhore thread.
Death Note is most definitely the best of its genre in recent times, but there are quite a few more acknowledged mangas that I know of. The whole concept of Death Note is quintessential. It's hard to pinpoint flaws in the natural flow of the mystery-solving as well as the masterminds' plans at defeating each other in confrontation. What concerns me more, however, is the system of the Death Gods. They were just "there," and are not really fully explained as to what the initial purpose of their existence was. I think that's rather one of the more major flaws in the setting. The whole Mello/Nate (excuse my not knowing English names) thing worked out perfectly fine plot-wise, but I'm one of those people who wished the conflict was ultimately solved Lawliet. There is also the conclusion of "we're useless separated, but more powerful than L when combined" thing, which was a retarded way to make the finishing pose in my opinon. All-in-all, good manga, much better than some of the recent trash that's been going out. I have not watched the anime as of yet (terribly dissatisfying second OP), but I have watched drama and the last 24 hours of L's life special. I like Monster better as a manga of this genre though. And from the idea of the other recent Death Note thread: This manga wasn't made to make the characters appealing in any way, so none of the characters stood out to the point where I could choose a favorite. It's easy to choose a favorite from mangas like Mahou Sensei Negima (mine being Ayase Yue), but not from a manga like this. Anyone can just say Lawliet, but there's not too much reason to put behind it. However, one can choose between who was correct in pursuing their ultimate goal: Light or Lawliet. I side with Light. Kira for god. Well, god is going too far as a title, but it most definitely would have been a better world had the police not made Kira go insane in any way.
