There's no grading system, so wouldn't PC for Perfect Combo be better and less confusing to noobs?
I mean obviously it derived from DDR but that's just it...this ISN'T DDR. |

It's a DDR simulator. You get AAA's in DDR so that's why you get them in FFR.

Not Really since They are new and they probably would think that perfect combo is just to hit all the arrows, since they probably don't really realize the difference between a good and a perfect.

In av-miss era, there's a difference between PFC and AAA.
PFC = all perfect AAA = max possible score But they are exactly synonymous in meaning now and AAA gets more popular as a language nowadays. |

who's buried in grant's tomb? Why is one end of the V longer than the other when geese are flying? Why do we call PFC's AAA's in FFR?
It's just one of those things where the answer is: Just cuz.

because DDR calls them AAAs... so way way back in the day, in 2003 or 2004, we started calling them AAAs too. because that is how everyone already knew them as. so it was simple to keep calling them that. SM uses AAAs also.
it's kind of a universal term for a perfect score.

Yeah, I always thought the Marvelous thing was dumb. Let's make something better than Perfect and call it Marvelous, because Marvelous is so much better than Perfect...
But yeah, there are AAAAs in Stepmania. There are still AAAs though. It's just not as good as being Perfect. According to Stepmania, anyway. |

Dance Dance Revolution SuperNOVA2 incorporated Marvelous/Fantastic timing into it's main gameplay now. Now, PC and AAA are completely different.
And don't even make me bring up ITG. |

don't forget... Marvs, ITG, and anything involving AAAAs is far newer than FFR or DDR. Plus, the AAAA setting for SM is optional (although everyone turns it on at this point... it's become the accepted standard).
