''there would be other physical means to see even farther into the future?'' where did this notion come from? 0.o I mean, I myself cannot honestly see how you could see into the future, via physical means, other than hynosis. EDIT: only read the first 4 posts, because I didn't think anyone else was being serious. Now i read it.

Uh, yeah, I agree that the brain adds in things we think are normal even if the observational evidence hasn't yet been supplied or may never be supplied.
But about the 1/10 of a second thing...that just seems really obscure. It doesn't take a whole tenth of a second for light to reflect off something into your eye..unless it's like 18,000 miles away. |

Read the rest of the thread, and tell me if you still feel this way.

Our brain is an amazing tool, it picks up a ton of information we don't consciously know with all our 5 senses. Even things like intuition aren't really intuition, but rather, memories of something we've experienced before. If we have a predict something that is about to happen, it's actually because we've noticed clues to hint it without really paying attention.

It's not a reflex. A reflex is when you react to something after you noticed it, not before.

It's like that one spider in spider man 1 that borders almost on premonition.
PS: This picture this article as describing auto complete from Microsoft Word. Even though I only typed Satis, it's assuming I'm going to type satisfactory and completes it for me. The eye and brain do the same thing. |
