Question Baby birds fell while still in nest-still alive! What to do?

Ok, most of you know about the badass storms that hit Michigan yesterday. To our surprise (sort of), after the storm, a birds nest was on the ground. I picked it up, and birds were in it! And they were alive! I put the nest by the tree, but I couldnt do anything because of my terrible sunburn. My mom gave them water through a dropper, and we havent fed them yet. The parents havent returned, and its been 5 hours, so its up to us and the humane society to help them. What should I feed them? (theyre robins). And dont give me that "the parents wont return when you touch them" crap. ITS A MYTH!! anyways, what can i feed them? we called the humane society, and they said to feed them, too. again, what should I feed them?

Find worms, mash them up and partially digest them and feed them that.

Quote:
American Robins feed on a mixture of both wild and cultivated fruits, berries, earthworms, and insects such as beetle grubs, caterpillars, and grasshoppers. The Robin is flexible and will turn to whichever food is most readily accessible, although the diet generally consists of approximately 40% invertebrates, 60% fruits and berries.

Personally I would get out the spade, anyway back to the feeding discussion.

Cut up berries/fruits into small pieces that can be fed to a baby robin. You can do the same with earthworms if you want, as well...

Instead of taking her out to a movie and buying her popcorn, bend her over the arm of a couch. It's very economical. Just make sure you are using the proper protection, because then it can become VERY, VERY GOD DAMN UNECONOMICAL if she pops a baby 9 months down the road.
