That's not dodging it. That's AVOIDING it.

And yeah, I need to work on anticipating how people will avoid it better. Lately I've been throwing my down Bs, then having to play catch-up with something else when they avoid it. But what you might not realize is that sometimes, I'll throw a down B KNOWING that it'll be avoided, just to try to control the flow a little better, or to push to the side.

But I was fooling around and I think I've gotten a bit better at blocking recoveries. Usually I would just wait for them to come back and smack them back out again, because the times I go for something, it often would end up backfiring on me, particularly when it's low and off the side ("oops i jumped on ur head lol"). But I worked something out with neutral aerial that seems to work well. I'll have to try it out online though I guess.

Oh and man, for ****s and giggles, I did a 10 stock match against level 9 CPU Game and Watch, and I actively avoided using neutral or down B. The funny part: I won by about the same amount of stocks as I would have if I was spamming those Bs.

Anyone who was involved in the Pikachu vs Game and Watch counterpick debate watch that video. An advanced technique called Quick Attack Cancel, if you want to be a pikachu main it is quite essential to learn how to do it. Also pikachu's nair can kill at 93% if its sweetspotted...just throwing this stuff out there.

EDIT: on a side note the pros all use GC controllers with the springs on the L&R buttons removed, just fyi guys

I'm well aware, but I even if I mastered that technique I wouldn't use it. I'm not a fan of exploits of the physics engine used to gain a competitive edge.

And about aerial game, like I said before, I was chiefly aerial in N64, but I can't be so heavy on aerials with them gimped like they are. I mean, yeah, they're better than Melee, but they're still gimp.

Its not broken good...that, to me, is like saying you wouldnt wavedash in melee as a fox main because its an exploit. If it is tournament legal then you better use every competitive edge you have, you really shouldnt limit yourself.

Just because it's not game breaking does not mean that it's fair or balanced.

And offsetting an imbalance built into the game by using an unintended exploit of the physics is not how I would want to win.

That's like saying you wouldn't stutter step with Sonic.

Example, smash analog left and forward smash right with the cstick. Sonic's F-Smash range increases dramatically. It works with a lot of characters actually.

But that's kool i guess. Play how you want Cuz the opponent will probably do the same.

Besides characters in Brawl aren't balanced in the first place everyone should realize this.
