He's beyond level 200. When a character has a level higher than 200, it means it was applied in some non-normal way (I don't know if I've ever even heard of a character higher than 200 which was not a GM). I'm pretty sure they simply don't have exp to next level data on the server for higher levels. They probably have a simple catch for exp so that if a player "gains" exp, but the exp to next level is not identifiable, the exp just does not change.
Because the way exp works is that the exp required to level from 199 to 200 is almost the highest number that that particular data type can store. They could always increase it, but I don't know if they could even do that on private servers. It seems like it'd be a RELATIVELY simple fix in the source code, but not having seen it (not that I'm all that knowledgeable in the first place), I can't say for sure. |

Anyone know anything about OdinMS and LocalMS being picked up as Trojans?

I've finally maxed Res.
But now I have reservations about going full-on to Holy Shield next. I'm torn between AR and Holy Shield. Holy Shield will make me like the best Bishop ever for bosses, but AR would be FUN AS HELL when fooling around (I'd really love to have a single target attack that is stronger than my AoE attack for once), SLIGHTLY helpful SOMETIMES at Skele, and it would let me help with damage a little more at bosses too (not that anyone even seems to care about that, but it's fun anyway). Other skills aren't even worth consideration for me. If I had max Bahamut, I wouldn't be able to use it during boss (lolz render on top layer) and I wouldn't bother with it at Skele (all it'd do is aggro them and make them attack me before I cast my first Gen). Mana Reflect and Big Bang are just plain garbage. And Genesis, as I said, is getting my attention later, when I will be able to begin 1hk. And hell, I'd love for MW 20, but that won't happen. Oh my. I seem to have completely forgotten about Infinity. It doesn't help me at all, really. Just let's me not use pots for a short while. I'd rather have a stronger attack or buff than save on some pots. Yeah don't worry about the Trojan thing.
Holy Shield is alright but doesn't last long regardless. Like you said about Infinity "let's [you] not use pots for a short while", HShield just let's you not use dispel for a while and SLIGHTLY increases killing speed of party as well as you and your party's survival. But only slight over a small level. At HT for example, only one spot where HShield is useful. You'd be surprised at how many people get Mana Reflect. Haha so stupid... Just another thing to cast. So not worth the time or points. So yeah in short, get AR. lmfao ... banned on SW because some teenage girl makes a biased list and I point out the bias in it. Amazing. Worst forums in existance. Does anyone play gms anymore? I kinda gave up my lv84 i/l in Windia and started over in Khaini with some friends. I never tried a private server and don't plan on it because they look incredibly boring.

Yeah, Trojans are pretty weak anyway. And if I recall, outside of doing a quest or two, there's not much reason to fight them a whole lot.

Enjoy getting to endgame within a day and quitting due to having done everything. That's not the point of the game. Think: what would you do if you had a fully equipped level 200 character? You'd do a few boss runs, then quit because you no longer have any reason to play. The point of the game is to have fun. Playing with super high exp rates makes it so you play less hours, translating to less fun total. And if you don't think the game is fun UNLESS you get 50 levels per hour of grinding, then you're playing the wrong game (heck, you're playing the wrong GENRE of game). |

People have different reasons for playing games, Afro.
My entire goal with MapleStory was to get 4th jobs with all 13 classes. I accomplished that goal. I have no reason to play MapleStory anymore. |

So you're saying everyone who plays MapleStory is playing to have fun, right?
What about meso farmers? And Maple was never about having "fun" for me. It was about killing time and chatting with e-friends. |

That's just a messaging client other than AIM, MSN, etc. Half the time I logged onto Maple, it wasn't to play. It was to talk. I bet a lot of people here are the same way.

That's why I continue to play. It's an interactive IM program... haha And I've enjoyed being in the highest level community. Course, I still have fun. I switch about training, get better equips, do different things.... Lately I've enjoyed chatting on IM programs and doing things on the net instead of sitting in game.
I've said a number of times that if the game didn't have the ability to make different faces, I would have quit long ago. It helps the interactive chatting. xD Afro, I suggested AR because you said you'd have fun with it. So get it. Last edited by banditcom; 05-26-2008 at 01:32 PM.. |

And playing with higher rates doesn't mean you'll play less. It just means you'll get farther with the same amount of playing, which I find to be awesome. I'd rather hit 120 in a week and start doing boss runs, rather than spending months trying to get there. Also, Local plans to have a reborn system, so hitting 200 isn't the end anymore. MapleStory was fun, but it was also tedious. I got bored of spending hours to level up. Now I get to enjoy the game, without the constant grinding. I can grind for a little while, gain a level, then do whatever I want. I'm not looking for a sense of accomplishment from MapleStory. I don't see how you can. "Yes, I've spent countless hours of my life on an MMORPG." |

If I wanted to play an MMO for fun, it wouldn't be Maple Story. Maple Story was just a chat tool with things to do while chatting.
