Truth be told, I didn't like it at all. I'm typically a fan of your work, Spook, but something about this track irked me. I felt like the transitions were far too awkward and didn't flow as well as they could. For example, there's that section near the beginning when the high sparkle synth goes away (1:45) and the lower synths take over, with the high sparkle synth slowing coming back in a different key. If you hacked this section out completely, added a snare hit on the last beat, then put everything in full force, drums, low synths, and all, I think it would be a lot more effective in keeping up the energy of the song. Having that "semibreakdown" before more or less kills the mood (In my own personal opinion)

Yes, everything is mastered well, and the composing feels nice, but because of the awkward transitions, the energy of it is not as high as it should be.

Good to see you composing again, mate.

You must of been confused when I posted the song up if you thought I am going to care what you think about it like you're my peer. Or maybe it was "oh man, I should totally rework the song because Starshot doesn't like it!"

So sorry, both are incorrect!

I tried to compliment the track, but I also gave my criticism. Nothing more, nothing less.

I appreciate the fact that you can hold your opinion of yourself higher than others (as one should), but I do not appreciate the smarm.

No offense, I didn't once see a compliment. "The mastering was well done and the composition seemed good."

Did you even LISTEN to the synth he created? Think about how he made that track, all of the buildups, and the entire feeling he was trying to portray in the first place?

You didn't compliment anything about the track, you only barely complimented his production than criticized everything about the song itself.

Also, the fact that you simply do not have to listen to my opinion also comes into play.

No, starshot stated he tried to compliment the track... I was simply stating no such attempt was made.

I was also stating, that his criticism is all well and good, but regardless listing only the negative feedback you have of a song, and not even touching on the positive makes you hardly worth earshot.

Default lolwut seriously

Ok so normally i don't participate in flame wars, as unfortunately i'm not fire proof. But there is too much **** being flung for me to miss out on this one.

Here is the simple fact of the matter. FGJ posted a new song, hasn't been around in awhile and spent alot of time on it. in my personal opinion and the opinion of numerous people ont his board, the song was pretty ****ing good. KGZ had some things to see, but all around THAT was a constructive criticism. What DJS did was NOT . Basically it came down to,

You did it wrong this is how it should have been. That's like me telling DJS that he doesn't make trance right.. The point is that you make an entirely different genre of music for entirely different people.

When you say that you tried to compliment it, is TOTAL bull****, end of story.
The entire post was you ragging on his track, telling him what was wrong with it and how he should have done it. but then you briefly touch on the production value.

So you're telling me that if i walked up to you, Punched you in the face and told you that you had nice shoes, you would be ok with that? I'm not sure I quite understand how your logic works.

So I'm starting to notice, it's not about the track more-so than DJS being the creme de la creme. If it's not done by DJS ( or someone associated ) it's not worth a ****?

That's All that I got from the original post was DJS telling FGJ that he obviously doesn't know what he's doing. If he wanted it to sound like generic stereotypical trance, I'm sure he would take more of your advice ( yes that one was personal) But he made it exactly how he wanted it to sound. To Rip on it like you did is absolutely uncalled for, If that's how this game is going to work I'll start honestly reviewing your songs, and you won't like it one bit, I can almost guarantee that you're going to get just as if not more defensive than FGJ did.

that's all I have to say, any response that you have should be directed at my PMs as I'm done with this post.

Ok i know i said i wasn't going to read it anymore but it was in the background when i minimized age of conan.

The way it came off was very abrasive and over critical. Constructive criticism is one thing but the way he came off with what he said was NOT it.

And to be 100% honest i was fine with the post until he tried to say he was just trying to compliment the track. that is NOT what he was doing and was a blatant bold faced lie. THAT is what made me mad.
