Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
ok. submitted.... i guess it's decent. i submitted a 12.
i'm sure SD will beat that, assuming he figures out what to do. the goal is to prevent anyone else from beating it.

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
A friend of mine just played through the mental bonus game and partway through went "The gravity actually functions like gravity, in that the strength of the gravity is indirectly related to the square of the distance, and it isn't just vector adding like everyone probably thinks it was supposed to be"

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
stupid gravity acting like gravity. but, that wasn't my big issue. my big issue was the physics of the ball bouncing off of objects.

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
For me, it was the ball going through walls. It actually helped me on 22 and 24, but it probably wasn't supposed to happen in-game.

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
Gah, this game has definitely been the most frustrating thing for me in this so far... Except for maybe the round 2 and 4 FFR challenge stuff. Arf.
It was so annoying when the ball would take so long to get across the level or something... only to zip right back to the start... Blehh. And, in my opinion... After level 8, the easiest levels were 22 and 25. Took me one try on each... 23 was probably the most annoying. 9 started the annoying...ness. And the levels seemed to get less and less original... Stupid narrow passages. Took me longer to figure out what to do with the puzzle than it did from then to actually complete it.. And, yeah, the FFR thing for round 2 is annoying me more than this little game did.. Last edited by Silvuh; 05-8-2008 at 06:48 PM.. |

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
grr. I relied so much on random bounces.
This game has NOTHING to do with CT at ALL. it doesn't even have PHYSICS... correctly... Edit: Just noticed: I have the highest score here xD I PWNZ0RS!

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
Well, in all fairness, I only played through the first 5 or 6 levels before deciding the game was suitably analytical and strategic to use it for the round's bonus. Had I known of the buggy nature of later levels, I would have picked something else.
However, puzzle round! |

Eh, maybe I'll go sleep for an hour. If my alarm wakes me, I'll be here; if not, whatever. rofl

No, I'm actually just staying up until 8:00am before going to bed.
On the bright side, the 10:00am round I can actually just go to bed earlier and get a full night's sleep and just wake up at 9:30 or so. |

TTTTIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRREEEEEDDDDDDDD
Yeah, I'm basically going to put the round up and go directly to sleep. I'll make sure to carefully check timestamps for who got what to me in what order, but I really just don't much have it in me to stay up past 8:00 for the first three people to finish the bonus like I usually do. |
