Thumbs up Donations.

I had an Idea. What if every active member in FFR donated a dollar or two? I know people who would be willing to donate more than that!!! (me). That would give the site at least $1000 to work on itself, (because I know our admins are just google advertise bots).

Yes?

No?

If anyone's going to donate, they might as well get a subscription out of it ($3.50 for a month)...and lots of people don't have subbies anyways. $1 probably has the same feasibility for many, especially since donating online through paypal adds hassle. Yeah, no one's going to do this; also ads are probably raking in enough.

You just want everyone to donate $1 to YOU, so then you will be rich ;D
Yeah, and, you might as well buy a subscription, or a t-shirt.
Though, there COULD be a donate button, it wouldn't hurt, I doubt they need one.

Uh... Don't be so hastey to speak for the community. Members buy eachother subs. all the time, so I am sure a dollar or two is feasible.

You can get a paypal funded through a bank account. Basically any 7 year old can drag "mommy" down to the bank and get some kind of account, then fund it with mowing lawns, "other" means. etc. Then voila! A subscription. Then the only thing left to do is to wait to be banned for being UUA.

synth has never been fond of flat out donations. it's why there has never been a Donate button. if you want to help the site out, buy a subbie....

Hey Nathan.

Buying a subbie is pretty much donating. =P

I barely play FFR, but I'm gonna keep buying subbies just for the heck of it. The blue name and custom titles are just cute little bonuses.

Buying random people subbies is a great way to support FFR. On that note, want to buy me one? (seriously)

The address of FFR's paypal account is clearly displayed when you go to subscribe. If you really want to donate money that much, you can simply transfer money from your paypal into theirs. Alternatively you can buy subscriptions for random strangers, or any of a number of means to get money to them.

Since it is already trivially easy to send them your money, I don't see why we need a donation button anywhere.

Also, this thread seems to be turning into indirect begging for subscriptions, so yeah...

I'll be buying people subbies, as well. I guess I'll give mom 100-200 dollars to add to her Paypal and I'll buy a bunch of people 1 month subbies.
