Reach I don't agree. This isn't as difficult as you say it is. I've played stuff as hard as this in 6 months or less.
Piano performance major btw.

Also, the Moonlight Sonata, even the third movement, is not difficult by any means. It can be tricky, but I learned it in about 2 months.
Even the Revolutionary Etude took me about a month to learn up to speed. Of course, I practice about 4 hours a day.

If I wanted to, I could learn this Piano Etude in a month or two. I've already sightread it and I know it is possible. I just have too many accompaniments to do and I'm working on a few Chopin pieces atm. So I wouldn't have the time.

Moonlight sonata is not difficult? I've never heard anyone say that. I'm pretty sure the full piece can be played as something you'd perform for a teaching certificate, as it's above the level of anything you'll encounter is the student repertoire here in Canada.

And yes, it can be learned in 2 months but not mastered by any stretch of the imagination. I've heard a few people play this song terribly. There's a huge difference between a terrible performance and a good one, and it's called months on end of practice. I know an individual that plays professionally and significantly more than you/day and agreed at this piece being pretty ridiculous. Playable, but ridiculous. Being 12 pages long I highly doubt you could play this well in 1-2 months. It really sounds like you're inflating your abilities 10 fold, or you plan to make a hack job of it and consider that being able to 'play it'.

But whatever, if you ever *do* tackle this, you should record it.

first of all, you can't be more than 13 years old (assuming from your intelligence, and I'm being nice), so I'm pretty sure you can't play this

second, even if you did start learning piano since 5, you can't possibly have taught yourself everything. bullsh*t

third, you have the intelligence of a deer carcass, so you probably suck at music

fourth, even sprite, a piano performance major, needed at least a month to learn this. you immediately said that you could play this song, the day you found this thread. I know you couldn't have seen this thread before because seeing your attention span and how much of an attention whore you are you would've posted after you read it

fifth, stop whoring attention. you're a loser, no one cares about you, you're a f*cking dumbass, and you have no credibility in any field. you may have realized by now that almost all of your comment incite anger and criticism. FIGURE OUT WHY AND FIX IT. knowing you, you'll probably ignore this entire post and try to argue back, but still know perfectly well that it won't get you anywhere, so in order to get revenge you'll try to boost your ego by putting my name on your "people who wish they were me" list oh wait I'm already on your list do you know what that means? you're going to highlight my name!!! ESPECIALLY STARGROUP100 omg I'm so scared this will really crush me. of course I won't feel annoyed and try to completely wreck your face in by composing bland paragraphs of nonstop flaming to vent my anger on you, you complete dump of a human being

and if you do anything I have already mentioned then it'll only prove to us even more what an insecure immature retard you are

k I'm done I feel a lot better now

EDIT: nah, it doesn't matter because I still publically humiliated them. if someone was competent, then it would be extremely difficult to write that much criticism on them so quickly. and I have comebacks ready if they do say that

Stargroup100, the most effective way to combat these "deer carcasses," are to follow the internet saying, "Do Not Feed The Trolls"

Simply ignore. They want you to make that long post, so that they can later say something like, "You wasted your time on my 1 sentence post. I think I'll do make more retarded posts since your waste of time motivates me."

So, ignore them. This is a very hard piece, and I think it will take many expert players a long time to learn, since I believe this song was played by a program with matching the BPMs? I don't really know much, but it'd be awesome if Sprite- could post a video of him/her playing when they get around to playing the piece fluently.

Not that that matters.

I might try to learn some of it during the summer.

Reach, you don't know me. I have abnormally quick learning skills when it comes to the piano. And talking about hacking my way through something? Did you miss the part where I am a piano performance major in school? I am currently the top pianist in the undergraduate program. Don't judge me by your own skills. The Moonlight Sonata is not hard at all if you are really good at arpeggios, which I happen to be. When I played the song, it was done in a professional matter, which we are required to do in order to pursue our performance degree.

Ugh. I will ty to make the time to prove to you that I can learn this piece. This summer would be the only time and I have to learn 5 NYSSMA accompaniments and 3 Rachmoninoff pieces during that time, not to mention Tass wants me to record a rag for him.

Also, please do not criticize me on this, because you don't know me nor do you know what I am capable of.

In conclusion, just because something is hard for you doesn't mean that it is hard for everyone else. I've heard plenty of "professional" pianists play something that I can play better. My teachers have told me that I was a prodigy back when I was younger. Don't underestimate me.

I have attended many "professional' pianist recitals and I think that Sprite is one of the top 5 pianists I've ever seen in a group close to 75 performers

Yeah, Sprite's very good at piano. But the thing is, so am I =]

And also, I agree with Sprite.
1: It doesn't take a bloody year to learn Piano Etude; give or take 2-3 months, maybe 4 at the most, for me.
2: Moonlight Sonata Mvt 3 is not hard.
3: You don't know what people are capable of, if you are not a pianist or a very talented performer yourself. You could say I'm a bit of both =]
4: Line 1, sentence 2, Post #30 Mhmm... some people are good at sightreading/learning etc... some aren't. I'm sorry, but most of the comments placed in this thread are a load of BS, and you have no idea what you guys are talking about.
Tomorrow, my friend's bringing over the sheet music and we're both going to take it up to play during our free times. So basically, Sprite knows what he's talking about, I know what I'm talking about, and people who are good at piano etc... know what they're talking about, so Reach, please don't try to fight back and make a fool of yourself.
5: Lol 12 pages?
6: All of the above.

Moonlight Sonata is not that ****ing hard (I was able to play it decently well about a month after beginning to learn piano). Playing Piano Etude would be tricky but by no means impossible to play well. One could totally learn this in a month or less and execute it with decency.

Bump because I need fingering help on measures three (left hand) and four (right hand).

For measure three I have [1 5] 3 2 1 3 4 2 1 [1 2 4] [1 4] [1 5].

For measure four I have [5 4 3 2 1 (duh)] 3 4 [5 4 3 2 1] [5 4 3 2 1] 3 2 1 4 3 2 [5 4 2 1] [5 4 2 1] [5 1] [5 1] [5 1].

Measure four is the only measure I am stuck on right now, (I have only gotten to measure eleven, however) so help is appreciated.

Also, stargroup, what program did you use to make this sheet music?

I can play this, though.

Not at full tempo though, are you crazy. :P Reach has a point, there are several parts of this song that are very hard to get down. I have been playing piano since I was 6/7 years old, and I still have trouble playing this. It would take a professional to nail it, and even then it would take at least a few months to learn it.
