The link works. I listened to the song. Very good for your first but next time, please try not to use the same synth sounds over and over again. It got a small bit epetitive. Either way, NICE JOB!

Never mind. I listened to it again. You don't need improvements!

I would consider taking some theory classes. Later, you can take some classes on general composition too.

Re: Just got into tracking, here's my first track XD
I just took a look at the different music courses that I could take over the summer at the College that's across the street from me. Some of the courses start before school ends for me this year (I'm a junior in hs), and others end after school starts in the fall. There were some night class options but I have SAT subject tests coming up so XD........
I figured out that these two courses are the only possibilities at this particular college for me this summer: Music Course 1! 110 Music Course 2! 120 haha Should I take them or look elsewhere? (I've never taken a college class before lol)

This link should work http://www.fileupyours.com/view/1758...tion%20%A7.mp3 So should I take those classes or what? They seem kinda simplistic but maybe I need to go back to basics o.o........

Hmm.
It's not bad. :] I agree with Unknown, just a few too many synth sounds.

OMG! Someone finally agrees with me! Yeah. To much synth. I can take it in small doses, like Daft Punk, but even anyway, I like this track. Include more instruments next time!

Re: Just got into tracking, here's my first track XD
In this track I used a sampled drum kit from some band (I forget the band lol, got it off thier website), a fuzzy bass wave, a complex triangle wave, a distance square wave, and a flute sample.
I would say that's a decent amount of instruments o.O I next time I'll take it one instrument at a time XD

Re: Just got into tracking, here's my first track XD
Now, the problem isn't too many synths, it's just that they aren't placed correctly on the spectrum to give a 'flowing' feel. It sounds like all your your 'foundation' synths (the flute, etc). are being forced to be your melody. Basically, you need to equalize things; you can't just throw random sounds together and call it a good track, it'll just sound really, really muddy.
Anyway, as bmah said, you should definitely learn theory (you don't have to take it as far as taking college courses, unless you wanna make music your career). You can learn basics of theory online, or after a while, basic theory will just come to you. Also, find some tuts about mixing, mastering, compression, waveforms, frequency spectrum, and crap like that; they're all really important.
