Default Hops, Skips, Gallops?

I think hops are the right term because you are jumping, not skipping, and calling them gallops is dumb because if i recall you need 4 legs to gallop.

Tell me what you think

I think he's thinking of 'jump' LMAO. I know it's not hop, i've never heard anything called a 'skip' in my entire DDR life. but yeah gallops are when you do a jump, where one leg lands a little bit faster then the other.

The definition of gallop I have is "to run rapidly by leaping, as a horse." I don't really get where the term came from for DDR if this is the definition. Oh and no I am not thinking of jumps, its just when i do these "gallops" i jump off of one leg which i believe is a hop no?

I think the idea is that the sound your feet make as they hit the dance pad mimicks the sound a horse makes when it gallops (to an extent). That's why its called a gallop. Of course, It's not identical because we only have two legs as opposed to a horses four... but the idea is there.

Don't go by the dictionary. It does not teach you DDR slang.
Like Heavy. Mostly that means a lot of weight. It doesn't mean that that's the option you pick if you're a fat ass.

Gallops. I haven't heard of anyone saying "Hops" but very few say "Skips"
