I was just in the "End of the World" topic, where they were talking about Fish's dream about the world ending, and I realized that we need a good dream discussion topic.
I love talking about/examining dreams, basically because they are so mysterious and have a certain "unknown" factor. Please feel free to post some of your most vivid dreams, long or short, in this topic. I *rarely* have a dream that I can remember, let alone one that is so vivid that I can't forget it. I've never had a reacurring dream, nor have I had any bad nightmares. the "nightmares" I've had always seem like my mind's pathetic attempt at drawing on the emotions that are used the least, specifically fear. I don't usually let myself get caught up in situations where fear is a factor, so i guess that might be why. Anyways, here is the most vivid nightmare I've ever had, and it happened when I was only about 4 or 5 years old: I walked into my livingroom, and, to my surprise, my 1st dog, Tanner, had turned into a real-life cartoon. Tanner was a golden retriever, and this cartoon looked nothing like him (except for color). It was a goofy-looking dog with a big red nose and a large red spike collar. I think it might have had a spot or two, and its eyes were only black ovals. It was multiplying--everytime I truned around, there were more of them. Anyways, somehow I knew that, if the cartoon licked you, you would turn into one. Stacey, my babysitter that night (and nextdoor neighbor) was up on a chair in the livingroom avoiding the dogs. I yelled to her and told her not to let them lick her, but when she heard that, she suddenly decided to pet the dogs. You can guess what happened next--she turned into one. I then ran down the hall, squeasing my way through this croud of malevolent cartoon dogs to my little brother's door. I ran in, grabbed him, and practically chucked him into my room, where I slammed the door and put myself against it... Yes, it is silly and bizzar, but I was really young. Like I said, I can't remember any good ones, but I like to tell that one for a laugh. (*expects high-heat flaming*) ~NEO |
