When I was catholic, about a year or two ago, I would have seriously picked God over the person in question. I am an Atheist now, so I guess it is much easier for me, and yet harder at the same time. As of now, I am still hiding my beliefs from my family and even some of my friends, because they are all Catholic. It's such a familiar environment for me that it's hard to leave, but at the same time, I need my space. Anyways, if I fell in love with a Catholic (or a person of other religious faith), it would probably be tough on both of us. If she required me to have faith in God for her to love me, then I don't think I could go on harboring these feelings for her. I'd simply have to find a better match for myself. If you can't accept someone else for EVERYTHING that they are, then I personally don't think you can truly love them.
