Do you think ghosts exist? This is my FAVORITE thing to read and study and this is what I concluded:
I do. Ive been into this idea for a while and think that there are ghosts that do exist in this world. Not only have I been in suspected haunted areas, I also think that there is a reason they are here. Just in different forms. Some think that ghosts are trapped souls between heaven and hell that could not find the way in. Others, think that the ghosts were trapped becuse of their life on earth. All of the facts are very convincing, even my friends have stories about it. This is one of them, and its unexplained, if you have your own stories, I can probably explain them because I know how the human brain works. My friend has a pool. One day while he was swimming in his pool and stopped for a rest, he swam to the seats built in to the pool. He has a black bar fence that you can see through looking out on the rest of his property. Two large black figures walked across the grass in front of his yard. They had no legs and he could see through them, then they dissapeared. Startled, he got out of the pool and ran to the spot where he had seen these forms. There were no footprints or crushed grass where they had been. He looked into his driveway to see if anyone had been visiting and had walked across the lawn. Also, he was not tired, in fact, he slept soundly the night before and he wasn't hungry. He has never had any mind problems, never had psycologic help, or anything of the sort. I, for one am baffled by this occurance. Another weird event that happend at the same house is while my friends brother was sleeping in his room, he was awoken by a sharp pain around his neck. He soon found out he was being strangled, but nothing was there. This story is not as impressive as the one before because I do not know if he was tired or anything, but something was weird about it. Other things in this house were my friends chair moving back and forth and scraping against the ground, waking him up, one it stopped is when he looked at it. This house was built by my friends dad, so its was not inhabited by anyone else before they were there. I have many more but most of them are not as amazing as these. The second question is: Could there be aliens? A smarter being than us? I think so because out of all of these planets, there are many habitable planets out there, of course there is no way of knowing, but I find it very possible that there is a smarter race than us. People that dont should really think about it. There is a huge possibilty because there has to be a planet like earth, it would be really weird to find out that this planet is the only planet in the entire UNIVERSE that has intelligent animals enough to go into space and have civilization... So please post your thoughts/stories because Im very interested in anything you have. thanks! ![]()

First thing, I believe in ghosts. I believe there is a ghost in my bathroom, because the bathroom door closes by itself and the lights turn on and off by themselves. I think there is also another race other than us humans. Either that, or there is another "Earth" somwhere out there with other humans on it which of we do not know about. You can't see very well in blackness, can you? Space is black. Although the stars are almost like light, what is outside of our galaxies? Nobody will ever know.
There were also flashes in my friends house in a room with no windows, completely dark. We were playing hide n seek with some girls =) and they all saw it to. Me and my sister have rooms right next to each other with one hollow wall splitting the rooms, and we hear scraping and things like that in the wall, kind of like somthing scratching wood. There are probably reasonable explanations for these things, but there is always an explanation that can't be confirmed. Otherwise known as...the "Unknown"... bum bum bum...

Actually there is a possiblity that we will know whats out there, its just not our time yet, that answer may be revealed in death, but there is no way to tell that, now is there?
Maybe your bathroom door is broken, or maybe something significant about that bathroom happend a while ago and a restless spirit inhabits it. Or maybe its aliens, that my first thought to something weird. ![]() About the scraping thing, it could be rats, or bugs, or savage beasts but I doubt that it is supernatural. The flashes thing has happend to me too, completely dark, but flashes happen, its odd but its something your eye does I forget what.

I do not believe in ghosts, for the most part because I do not believe the assumptions used to explain them. Everything you think is a ghost makes much more sense otherwise.
The "two dark figures" were probably spots on his eyes. I've had a similar thing happen where you see spots or "stars" in your vision from too-bright light, rubbing them, or getting something in your eyes. The sharp pain was probably a muscle seizure in his neck. It can happen sometimes, but it is very rare for it to happen randomly. The bathroom door is probably slightly slanted and non-rusted or has a spring/other mechanism to close it. The bathroom light and flashes in the windowless room is either faulty wiring or electrical arcs between non-insulated wires. The scratching in the hollow wall is definately rats. About aliens: I sincerely hope there are aliens that we can reach within a reasonable amount of time. Otherwise a large area for exploration disappears. However, they aren't the gray skin big eyes alien abducters junk that gets put alongside ghosts in most supernatural listings. |

It would seem like an extreme coincidence if the spots in the eyes thing was true, but good points though.

In my house there is an Indian who lives there. Everyone in my family has seen or felt him near by. Also many things have been moved in my house like cups or bowls. Also there is a man and a woman that lives in there also. My mother has heard them once before. Ghosts are real, why they are there, who knows.
I hope there is other races in the universe because it would seem to be a waste of space if Earth is the only planet with life forms.

To be right to the point, no.
I don't belive in heaven or hell either. It just doesn't seem logical, I am a man of reason, I HAVE to know how stuff works, or I don't accept it.

I have a ghost cat in my house. It's really weird because the cats in my house scratch on doors if they're closed. So every once in a while, I'll hear a scratching at my door while I'm sleeping. I get up to let the cat out or in and when I turn on the light there's nothing there. Also I've seen it a few times. When I get up, I look at the floor in front of my door to see if I can see the cat, and one time I saw a cat's outline but when I turned on the light there was nothing there.
Now on to my beliefs... I believe in what the chinese call chi and what the japanese call ki. It's an energy that all life forms have. I believe this is what causes ghosts. Some of your ki simply rubs off and then there's a ghost there. I don't know if I explained it too well, but oh well. About the aliens: of course there are aliens somewhere in the universe. I don't know if we humans will ever make contact though.

That is good LD, its a different perspective. We may one day find out a scientific realization of spirits in our own world...
Ok... Hund, first, ghosts inhabit areas if something significant happend there in their past life, as far as we know, as some of the people on this thread have said already, they dont belive in that, but its the version I think is most valid. But an indian? That house has to be REALLY old for an indian ghost to inhabit a house, unless, of course, this area that your house happens to exist on is an important place in this life. Hm Afro, interesting, waking up to that would scare the crap out of me knowing my home at night -_- anyways, could just be a cat that once was there, not really a specail story, but eh, I have cats too and Ive had the same expirience. So there probably is reason to it. The ki and chi thing: I dont really find that as a way to explain ghosts, but if you find it useful, then there ya go. PS: Thanks for the stories, Im gald this board is taken seriously... -_-

Well the house was only build 12 years ago and it is built in florida so maybe its where the Indian died or something.
Also yes I am going to Iraq in Feb. most likely. There isnt a definite date on that yet.

I believe in ghosts.
I believe in aliens. I don't think that they are more intellegent than us. They don't have to be. It's not like all of a sudden, since you're an alien, you are all of a sudden much more intellegent that the puny human race. Take the zerg. They are mean. Deadly. Violent. Stupid. I know the zerg is the worst example ever, but it's an example none-the-less.

Cypher, I'm not sure if you know this, but the reason why people seem to assume that extraterrestrials have to be more intelligent is because we, as a species, have only existed for "a few blinks of the eye". If there are extraterrestrials, they would have most likely developped centuries before us, thus giving them more time to advance in technology.
As for ghosts, yes I believe in them. And orbs. And human phenomena (astral projection, dreamwalking). And the greys. And shadow people. |

I... have an open mind. That's as far as that goes, but, like LD, I am a logical person, and I, for one, have never experienced something that couldn't be explained. Many times you'll think you saw something, but it could have only been a reflection on your own glasses--if you wear them. I think that the "shadows walking across the lawn" were probablydarkened blots in one's vision caused by the fence. Objects like that--that you can see through with a pattern--can bend light in weird ways. For instance, if you set an object, preferably round, in front of your livingroom blinds on a bright day, the object will seem to melt in with the parallel lines created by the blinds. And if you stand in the area that the light is hitting on the floor, your own shadow will melt into these lines. Light plays weird games with your eyes sometimes...

I don't believe in ghosts because I've had no 'ghostly' experiences. Even if I did, I still don't think I would believe in them just because of how rediculous the idea of them existing sounds to me. I do believe in life elsewhere because I can understand that it is possible. We're here, aren't we?
BTW: K-PAX is an awesome movie. Kevin Spacey is a badass.
