His final smash is awesome if you know how to use it right. It's tricky but i usually can finish off whoever is around me.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
I wouldn't say it's awesome, really, it's got sluggish controls. Sonic's is way better for being a similar move because it both lasts longer and controls better. Sonic doesn't have a lot of other big damage moves, however, so he needs the better FS

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Pit sucks Against Anyone. He's great at racking up damage, but the button lag combined with his lack of any excellent killing moves aside from that one aerial is really annoying and makes him useless in a time match. So I usually pick Ike, close my eyes, and start jerkin off the c-stick.
Whatever works.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Really?
I would have expected Fox or Captain Falcon or at least the new guys like Wolf or Diddy from you. Also: this means that I must do battle with you, for I am a devout Pikachu user. @Mal: he lost his cheap aerials from the 64 days. His neutral air and back air were crazy amazing, and his forward drilling attack could be combo'd into his up a with minimal difficulty, and, under the right circumstances, could immediately be combod into a SECOND drill to up attack without touching the ground. Now, his back works more like his forward (which is better than how it was in melee...), his neutral is best likened to the effectiveness of a flyswatter, and his up A isn't as potent anymore. He's still nice, and he's even got a few new tricks over time, but he's not as godly as he once was. And his final smash... it just requires more skill. Others simply need to line up and press the button and hope it hits, while pikachu needs to fly around and time his hits and aim his opponent towards the edge and blah blah blah |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
The physics of this game don't allow me to play as characters that were once top tier in melee. I've tried to play as them. Dear god i've tried trust me. It's just not going to work out for them their game is just too different now.

Ness's forward+A got slowed down to hell so I rarely use him anymore
Yoshi is really awkward to control in this one, along with tons of other characters Metaknight can't really deliver a killing blow, same as pit Ike is awesome brb getting code |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
hey did you know its impossible to dodge link's final smash?
I just rolled out of his range. On to the other side of him. And he killed me with it anyway. Also: people online suck... that and these ******s are now teaming up on me, and still the only reason I lost the last round was because of link's gay ass getting me in his final smash 2 times.

Some of the Final Smashes are retarded and make no sense. For example, has anyone else noticed that Meta Knight's FS occasionally hits people leagues away with line-of-sight broken, killing them for no apparent reason with no apparent consistency?

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
First of all, I figured if I rolled behind him I'd be fine. In addition, I didn't expect him to pull out his smash when I was so close, thinking that he'd be worried about ROLLING BEHIND HIM TO AVOID IT.
And I was fine doing this. Sort of. I thought so anyway. See, I rolled behind him after he started the attack. I literally actually did it and I was behind him. He had initiated the attack but hadn't yet actually DONE any part of the attack yet. And at this point, I was literally behind him. Then, the moment he start actually doing attacks, my character literally jumped from where he had just rolled to to trapped inside the Triforce. I wasn't bumped into it, I didn't roll back, I didn't even get "sucked" in. There was no animation of my character moving from where he was to being trapped inside the triforce. He just snapped instantaneously in there.

Ike's smash gets me for no reason sometimes, too. But I did dodge Link's last night. My brother would randomly get me with the Ike smash, though.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Afro, yeah with Link's final smash, as long as someone is in range when the attack is initiated, he'll hit them. Generally there isn't enough time to actually get away, so what happened to you won't occur very often.
From what I understand, he activated the attack and then you rolled away, meaning you were in range when it was activated. That's why you got hit. And by "initiated" or "activated," I'm referring to a specific point during the animation where Link sort of raises his hand and you see light come out of it. It's subtle, but noticeable. My understanding is that this is where the game checks if there are any targets in range. Was the whole "character teleporting into triforce" thing the right decision for what should happen under those circumstances? Who knows? It's probably better than Link slashing at a Triforce prison with nothing in it. |

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Link's is a line attack anyway, it'll get anyone in a line horizontal with him, facing his direction. Rolling away won't get you out of that.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
The spot I rolled into was on the other side of him. I wasn't facing him. It is most likely what Relambrien said in that if you're in range when the attack is initialized, you will get hit from it regardless of where you are when he REALLY starts attacking.

Ah, yeah I didn't read your initial post so if you said that, sorry. Link/Toon Link have good FSs, unlike SOME characters. I'm looking at you, Jiggly.

Hahaha i love jigglypuffs final smash. Though it may be easy to avoid if you can position yourself to where your enemy is hanging off the ledge from you knocking him off he's as good as gone although it's a bit of work to pull off.

Re: Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Spoilers, so highlight below
Wolf: After beating SSE, go to the stage "The Ruins." Eventually you'll come to this elevator type thing that brings you down a shaft where crystals protrude and hurt you. Skip the first door you come across, and instead go through the door at the very bottom. A cutscene, followed by a battle with Wolf. Win it to unlock him. Jigglypuff: There's a way to do it in SSE after you've beaten it, but I forget what it is. The way I did it was to beat Event Matches 1-20 after completing SSE. You can do them in any order, and I've heard rumors that it just has to be ANY twenty event matches, so just go through event mode and you'll get Jiggly. There you go. |
