![]() Misses the point of the joke. If you can notice that there is cowbell in a song without actively looking for it, it's not being used correctly.

The point of the joke is the satire of the use of cowbell. When used correctly, cowbell does not stand out at all, so advising that it needs more and more cowbell when its already very prominent is absurd. Therefore, making a compilation of songs that use cowbell and drawing attention to this fact is to take away serious value those songs could have and simply turns them into an unfunny joke.
