You're a great example of why it's a good thing to pay attention in school.

i didnt need research to tell me that, ffr is like playing a really dumb kind of instrument, however without the volume you are making a beat with a tempo and sound to please which is the definition of music, so you can also argue that you're making music while playing FFR also :P
i dont see these benefits, because i cant see, because of ffr i wear my glasses more often, woo

Stupid boy. I am a gamewhoreish hardkore gamer, but FFR is like primitive button-mashing games. In a good way. if you want to lose weight, try wiiFit, coming out this year. If you want more brain power, stick with Big Brain Academy, or Brain Age 1 & 2.

Actually, I'll have to agree with this. Ever since I started to play FFR/SM, I started to have better vocabulary, better reflexes, and I became better person irl. When I first came into FFR, I was just a kid who just didn't care about anything but then I meet FFR buddies to talk to and i realized that this game has actually helped me on some things like...my life.

If I did get smarter due to FFR, I blame it more on my self affiliated belief in growth of intelligence after playing (which isn't so bad - at least it gives me some confidence =[).

Playing that kind of game might somehow make it easier to learn for some people, but I know some people who play(ed) as much as I do and who got the worst marks ever at school, because they did not study. You wanna get better at reading? Then read more. You suck at math? Then do more exercices! There's no such simple answer as "playing rythm games will make you smarter". I so wish it were true, though :-P.
This.

Some of my teachers sadly don't see FFR as educational and sometimes distracting :/

I mean i know i makes a little noise when playing FFR (by little i mean alot) but its for my greater good.

Ive seen some slight improvement in rythym on my part, i can tell when people get offbeat alot easier now and i can play pretty well on rythym in band class. Other than that my grades have remained as static as they have been for the last 4-5 years.

yeah. people are always offbeat in band class, and this game + marching band has made me extremely OCD about it. rhythm and being onbeat are pretty much the only thing the game has helped me with. maybe hand-eye coordination for marching band, im not sure about that though.

Hopefully this post will clear me up of mixing effect up with affect. See FFR does effect...affect the brain. Actually, since all of you are wise on these matters, how do you know when to use effect vs affect? For example

FFR does have an effect on the brain.
FFR affects the brain.

Would these two be the correct usage. Or, would it be

FFR does have an affect on the brain.

I'm confused. You can insult me as long as you provide some clarification as well.
