The simfile testers of whom I sent my long sims to beg to differ.

On a side note, I deliberately did not cut Richard Jacques' Can You Feel the Sunshine? in respect to keeping the full song from the Sonic game, but I guess I'll have to cut it anyways.

This is a pretty subjective thing, but being long is a negative factor itself.

If you think the song is pretty good(and not repetitive) and don't want to cut, then don't cut. If your file is rejected for the song length, maybe you need to cut when you resubmit it though.

Also, there're many Long/Marathon songs in the queue.

Well I agree with you there; it's all very subjective.

Length is one reason why I don't play a lot of the widget files, but those simfiles are kept at full length for licensing reasons, etc. The Can You Feel the Sunshine? was a song directly from the Sonic R racing game for Saturn, so similarly, I thought it was just a general courtesy to keep the song at full length. What do you think about that?

As for files for the FFR game, unless the song artist forbids song cut soncut is recommended for long songs. Widgets are different.. songs themselves are more important than the files, so songcut isn't preferred.

I don't reject just for the song length unless it's ridiculous, so more quality is needed for short/long songs.

So, if I do some of these fixes, is there ANY chance that this would get into the game?

The song was awsome.. I play it in my car going fast blowing that thing. HEHE I told you so about what they would say... but thx for the m,p3 and good luck with the corrections. For that kind of sux, it sux to correct it.

I got question. Will triplets and quadruplets be allowed from now on if regulated and limited or was that just for the FMO and FGO week?

Quands and Hands(Triples) can only be used in the future on songs as hard as the files for fmo.fgo week.

meh, updated.

We still have 100+ songs in the queue, only used 20 or so files since the end of Feb.

That wasn't my understanding. My understanding was that if in the future we put hands, quads, and jacks into the file they have to be absolutely justified so we don't get overstepped cockfiles.

Does this mean that the batch may be closed until much later than May? In addition, in case you guys aren't yet, you guys should start judging really strictly so we don't get generic dumps :O

Well I did suggest in another thread that July would be a more realistic date. That doesn't seem too far-fetched.

july is likely more realistic. rebirth has been talking about re-judging the current queue. we'll see if he does that. i don't have an issue with it.

and i've been pushing for harsher judging for the last few batches.

also, when the next batch does open, it likely will be limited to 2 files for most people. certain awesomer peoples will be able to submit a few more.
