Default FFR on the laptop

I just wanted to know if the community of FFR had any tips on playing the game on a laptop. I've only been using it for about a week at most and Ive noticed the incredible decrease in my skill between a laptop and desktop. I just wanted to know a way to get better at FFR on my laptop.

Sincerest wishes,

When the game isn't fun for you anymore, take a break. It's not a job, nobody here is professional and getting paid to play and force themselves to constantly improve... it's a game.

There's not a whole lot that I can say except get used to it

If you're using the arrows, it'll be tough, but if you play spread, it'll be a lot easier. Maybe switch to that.

Also, if you can disable the touchpad, do it. I hit it a lot in the middle of songs, and it drives me crazy.

Good Luck!

Exact opposite with me. Tried playing on a PC keyboard when I couldn't use my laptop a couple of times. It utterly butchers my PA. I have NO idea how you people can play on those...

I'm on a laptop as well, I'm worse on my desktop because it's more choppy and the keyboard is delayed oh so slightly.

If you learn how to master a laptop, you'll play twice as better than if you learned how to master a desktop keyboard.

I use autohotkey. It kind of seems that it would be cheating using 3rd party prorgrams, but since it's stickied, I use it :P

ANYWAY, the flatter keys on the laptop will benefit you much more than a desktop computer's unless you have an HP (the only computer company I know that comes with a laptopesque keyboard). You just need time to get used to it. And I recommend you switch to spread if you haven't already.

EDIT: Typo.

I've been having enormus problems with my laptop. When I play on my desktop, I have great PA, and the arrows flow really nice. When I play on my laptop even without any other programs running, FFR is extremely choppy. I have like a 1:15 good PA ratio between my desktop and laptop.

It used to run ffr really smoothly, now it's infuriating to play on my laptop.

This is what I've done, personally. I bought a PS/2-USB adapter on eBay and plugged in an old desktop keyboard into a USB drive of my laptop.

I sometimes play on a small laptop, but apparently not for scores.

It's difficult due to keyboard size and dull response time.

Wait until they add in game key mapping, or get a key mapping program. Using the arrow keys on a laptop is next to impossible.
