Wait, isn't Ike in Brawl? To be honest, a lot of the main lords in the game have been amazing and their stories are pretty awesome, however, they all pretty much use the same weapon and they don't actually vary much game from game. We'd have a copy of the same character over and over and over.

But seriously, Ike and Marth were the best choices for FE reps. Ike because he's from the most recent game (correct me if it isn't), Marth because he's the veritable FE symbol, much like Mario is to his franchise. Any more than that is too much. I wonder why Star Fox got 3 reps anyway, compared to the 1 (or 2, if you count ZSS) that Metroid got. You'd think Metroid is more popular, wouldn't you? But no complaints from me, the roster's just fine. As for who I'm going to main, well I can't exactly say yet for sure without playing the game, but it looks like Wolf is going to be my main, with Marth and Pit as secondaries. I'll play everyone, of course, to see which I like best, but from the impressions I'm getting, this is what I think it'll end up looking like. Also, some characters have special victory screen phrases depending on their opponents. For instance, when Fox beats Falco, he says "Mada mada, Falco." Which, if I'm not mistaken, means "Not yet, Falco" or "You're not ready yet, Falco." In the American version, Wolf better say to Fox, "Can't let you do that, Star Fox." I'd be ecstatic <3 |

I'm still annoyed Tails didn't make it in to Brawl.
So many Mario, Zelda, and Pokémon characters, yet they could only manage one Sonic character? I know that that it's Nintendo, and there will be Nintendo characters... But Mario, Kirby, Fox, and Link all have partners (Luigi, Dedede, Falco, Zelda...), and it just seems unfair Sonic doesn't. But I suppose by this reasoning, I'd be asking for the inclusion of any other parter character... Maybe what makes Sonic, different, though, is that he's, like, Sega's Mario. Augh... And, yeah, the last thing we need is more mirror characters. Neither game needed two Links. Tails would have been much more original than Toon Link... [/Sonic fan rant with attempted logic] Oh, and Sonic and Tails in a co-op adventure would be very nostalgic. Arf. P.S. Quote:
And, yeah, you're not mistaken. |

Well you have to consider the fact that Sonic is not a Nintendo character, so having more than one playable character from a non-Nintendo game is not really reasonable. I wouldn't really care to have another playable character from the Metal Gear series for example.
Tails is not completely absent at least. He's an assist trophy. And you might see him running around in the background of the Sonic stage. |

That's what I'm thinking too, a lot of people wanted Ridley in the game, but I don't think it would have worked too well. A mostly flying character seems out of place in Smash, which is also why I don't think Tails was in, although it would be cool.

Yeah, it really would've been awesome if Tails actually was a playable character. His moves would be pretty different from Sonic's I'd imagine, and not a clone.

Wait, Tails is an assist trophy? It's not on the site yet... Eh, that would be nice. Not as good as a playable character but still nice. P.S. I'll miss Mewtwo. Makes me wonder what Lucario will be like... It's better to talk about what's there instead of what isn't, though... So, yeah. The new Break the Targets and the level designer seems like it will be lots of fun. Quote:
Oh, and Meta Knight can glide. Having Tails using the same mechanisms to fly would have been pretty sweet. Last edited by Silvuh; 02-6-2008 at 08:39 PM.. |

by the way relambien in this world is a song for the 360/ps3 sonic game, and i love scrap brain zone song XD. live and learn, seven rings in hand and open your heart are my all time favorite
marth is in brawl thanks to the fact that he is the main character in 2 or 3 fire emblem games. also i heard that the only thing that connects fox with wold is the landmaster and the fact that they are antrophomorphic animals XD. the roster is perfect IMO the clones really look like they have differences this time arround |

The similarities between Wolf and Fox are few.
Fox's F-smash is his lunging kick that he's been using forever. Wolf's sort of lunges his whole body a good distance forward, sort of like Sheik's dash attack. Their other smashes differ, too. Fox's laser is a no-stun, low-damage, rapid-fire beam, whereas Wolf's is a single-shot, decent stun, heavy-damage plasma shot. Fox's Up-B is his Firefox, Wolf just sort of lunges in whatever direction after a short start up period. Fox's side-B moves him horizontally, Wolf's moves him diagonally upwards. Fox's reflector and Wolf's reflector are very different. Fox's appears and disappears really fast, if you mash down-B then he stays in the air a VERY long time. It still sends opponents diagonally down, but there isn't as much of a delay before they can move again, and it doesn't send them far. Wolf's can't activate quite as fast, and doesn't affect his vertical momentum at all. It does reflect projectiles, and deals damage, but its mechanics are very different. All in all, it appears the clones have been nicely decloned, even if they haven't been made completely unique. So I'm happy. |

Ephraim doesn't count. He sucked.
A lot. Besides that, it's very hard to make every single awesome character or main lord have a varying move-set from each other because they all either use the same weapon or they attack very much in the same way, a fast forward stab. Even Ephraim had a fast forward stab. ~Tsugomaru

First week sales numbers are in.
In four days, Brawl sold 820,000 units in Japan. Compare that to the total sales of Melee at 1.4 million. Already over half of them. The rumors were that the shortages would mean only 400-500,000 units on-hand at first. Looks like that was false. |

I thought the rumour was that if Sumabura X was released on its original release date, then there would be shortages.

His story line wasn't as cool as the others. My point would be, if we used a lot of the other FE main lords, we would have Super Fire Emblem Main Lord Brawls instead of SSBB.

You know what? An FE character fighting game would actually probably be fun. I could imagine possibly a doujinsoft game for it or something.

No, it just wouldn't be the same as playing the actual Fire Emblem or the SSBB game. I'd like a brawl to involve characters from more than one game, not just one franchise. Besides, there are already programs that allow you to make your FE brawl.
