Marth's FS is making me want to play his FE games now, since that appears to be his crit animation. Notice the FE-style health bar that appears (and is promptly emptied) when he uses his FS.

You may be confusing it with Ike's Slash-the-hell-out-of-things-in-the-air final smash. I was just in a topic of someone confusing the two.

Anyways, I've seen videos, but what exactly does ZA WARUDO do? Does it slow down just the opponents, or the opponents and Luigi? Either way, it seems like a Final Smash that has more visual impact than actual benefit.

Oh also, I think its fine for the way they use final smashes, thats the whole point and thats why the smash ball is hard to get in the first place. The super advantage is fun during games of non-competitive play and thats all i need.

A few questions still remain for me though, can FSs be interrupted? Like say if I got behind Samus and hit her during her blast.

I think it works like that mechanic that many of the heavier characters have, where they take damage but are completely unstopped.

Have anyone noticed that this smash brawl has an engine similar to KOF?

who says they can't be used strategically... if you miss you fail.... that's what final smash are about, so you really gotta do timing and you gotta try to not get hit by anyone before getting the best time to throw your final (or else you'll lose your final smash). this only proves that competitive players just want to try and make this as "melee" as possible

Have you seen all of the final smashes? ICE CLIMBERS DOES NOT TAKE STRATEGY. Anyways I personally will not be using them. If someone wants to play with me they will not be using them. You can use them I could care less lol. The competitive smash world will most likely not be using them either.

If you played on a bigger stage like Hyrule Temple, that Ice thing could be totally avoided.

Also, I don't know if anyone read what I said about Marth's Final Smash. If you miss, you die. It's an all-or-nothing Final Smash. It'd be like getting the Home Run Bat and only getting one swing. If you miss the swing, you go flying instead.

And if you wanted to, so could dying. Running away for seven minutes due to the size of the map, camping down at the very bottom and just shieldgrabbing anyone who comes near you, the ceilings and pathing that make it difficult to die in some places, etc. is why that stage is banned.

That FS of Marth's seems pretty hard to miss with if you don't just throw it out randomly. You can cancel into a FS from a regular combo, so anyone with a drop of skill should be able to make it connect. Any few frames of lag at all is enough to get it in. Like Squeek said, other FSs are much more easily avoidable. You can just WALK in the direction that Lucario's Master Spark is sweeping and it will miss, small stage or not.

I agree. Ike's is definitely the most painful- and cool-looking. But the funniest goes to Luigi, hands down.

By the way, 1,776th post for us Americans.

besides you still need skill to get the smash ball, and don't get hit by anyone, but of course you say it doesn't use strategy because you only play in plane stages, well i guess you will have to play with your friends only, have fun winning without any kind of chaotic twists.

ike's final smash is hands down the best looking one and the funniest well i say the pikmin one XD

Sorry. Won't be playing on stages like that either. Chasing my opponent isn't my idea of fun.

Ya ONLY my friends and the rest of the competitive community. If I want chaotic twists I'd go do LSD.

Of course it isn't.

Well then. Why don't you guys make a stage like the Bridge of Eldin, except don't let it crumble.

Just make it wide enough so that huge AOE final smashes can't cover more than 75% of the stage, but not wide enough that you can run away all the time.

There you go.

But then again, I more or less expected this from you guys, so I'm not really annoyed.

Because those final smashes aren't my idea of "skill". They are awesome for fun type play, but not my kind of play.

And again, you and I have a very different concept of skill.

Having to pick things out, make your own circumstantial boundaries and rules to compensate for you lack of skill isn't my kind of play.

Apparently. When the game comes out I'll play you with your rules and my rules. We'll see who is right then.

As for the guy above this post. Don't worry, you won't be playing with me.
