Tass, I'm going to send about 6 or 7 queued files, the only thing changed is that I added seconds of silence so the arrows will start right in FFR. Hope that's ok.

No that's not the reason. Simfile probably had errors. I can't remember by now

EDIT: And to Rebirth, dBu's version is definitely called "the" Casket of Star, and I think I know the place you mean about the 32nds, and it definitely leads into the quarter as opposed to the quarter not preceding the 32nd
Oh.. maybe you're right. dBu does add "the" in the beginning of a bunch of his songs. I was just going off what I know from the ZUN version

Behind These Hazel Eyes: ?

The Euphoria: +?
A little explanation, please?

Quote:
JX:

Behind These Hazel Eyes (dj-N Remix) (TK_pavonineukon) [+.] (5) - could be more PR tho

The Euphoria (TK_pavonineukon) [+.] (6) - felt notes aren't going with the melody at parts, could be more PR
What's PR?

If it's difficutly, I thought making the steps slightly easier would really fit well with the mood of the song, especially Behind These Hazel Eyes. If I made any of those harder, I probably would've just put in a bit more jumps here and there.

Which notes felt out of melody, if you would be kind enough to answer?

And, one more thing. Tass, didn't you say that if a file got 2 +'s you would test it? The Euphoria had two and the parts that were "wrong" with them were very miniscule, which is why I got a ? by both judges, too. I'm a little disappointed at the fact that tiny little mistakes, or errors in the judges eyes, will exempt my file out of being tested by Tass, since he has the final call, but if not playing my files or any others with +?'s was to help reduce the amount of files in the queue or the amount of files you had to test, then I guess judging is just getting much harsher now.

PR = pitch relevency. Don't worry; I didn't know what that was before too. ^.^;

And when we do resubmit files for the summer, will they be judged differently than these last two batches? I believe I've already asked a similar question but it wasn't addressed.
For example, if a simfile was rejected from this batch because of a few jacks, will this be looked upon differently in future batches?

Oh...

Well, not every part should be perfectly on pitch. I mean, layering (except not with both, but with just the minor parts of a song)? That's pretty much what I did in the parts where I think I may have gotten deducted points. It prevents repetitiveness and I think it is very effective when making easier or harder songs alike. I just followed the song through with patterns that didn't necessarily match the main pitch of the song, but with some minor background sounds (like what I did in some parts of my Haven file during the main chorus).

Well I've also stepped a cut version of Space Wave Akiba Pop (but I'll let you revise that and try to get it in some more since you got it first) and Falsie PSuedo Science Girl w/e it is.

Pitch relevancy doesn't mean that you have to make your entire sim pitch relevant. Use your own discretion. A good file is more than just a musically accurate file, so you have to mix it up a bit. If you make the whole file musically accurate, the simfile itself might not end up that great, so don't be afraid to change things here and there to make a fairly accurate yet fun sim.

So now that 101 Kittens is released we can all finally comment on it.

I personally thought it was way too sub-par but that's probably because I'm heavily biased towards bmah's steps which I thought were really good. After playing the collab I can see basically all of stargroup's changes/additions, some goods some bad.

Also some really weird jump placement, either I'm really ****ing deaf or stargroup places jumps to the most obscure things.

Limited cyan notes, for a file in which stargroup helped that's pretty good.

Also the boring repeated... I guess 'chorus' type thing really sucks because with a song like 101 Kittens, fun rhythms > pitch relevancy... for me, anyway.

I'd say more of what I'm thinking but I'd rather just IM bmah 'bout it. XD

behan: i hate you very much... but yes, i'll take your silenced files. try to do that BEFORE submitting though. it's a pain in my ass.

tk: +? doesn't count as a +; not the same thing. and i said that if jx gave a +. and rebirth didn't +, i didn't test.

bmah: yes, most likely... since avmiss fix should be public by then, jacks will be acceptable.

hey smartdude, did you notice how you said that I changed bmah's version, he didn't change MY version?

I tried to incorporate as much of his parts as possible cause my file was heavily index-biased. btw those weird jumps are not emphasis, they are layering, which is probably why you didn't feel that they fit. they're good to have in there because it adds variety to the file this way

the file's pretty damn good, and it'll be extremely difficult for anyone to top that chart for that song for a while. instead of picking out errors just go enjoy the damn thing XD

hmmm, I don't quite give a damn about those 2 seconds of silence anymore. everyone who has agreed to help me never replied back (ya bastards) and my charts are good enough to make up for the f*cked up beginning. whatever

Sorry Tass. I'll do it next time. Only reason I didn't is that it's a pain for me as well, so I thought I'd wait to see if they got queued and then do it.

I'm sure it's a bigger pain for you, so I'll do it first from now on.

Stargroup + bmah=epic win. And I would help you stargroup and tell you to download free Audacity, but you said you're not allowed to download for some reason. Why not break that rule?

It's far too much of a hassle to have the files emailed, added silence to, and emailed back, but if you want me to do that I will.

probably because you sent it in after the batch closed. in which case, it's still sitting in my inbox and will be judged in the final batch before may.
