![]() For my English class, we have been assigned to pick a book to read. I really want to impress my teacher with my brilliance by reading a good novel.
Here are the requirements: - It must be over 300 pages in length. - I can't have read it before. - It must have a plot. - No Russian books like The Brothers Karamazov. They're too dry. Impress me, FFR. |

![]() did your teacher specify that you couldn't use Russian books or are you just saying that you won't read them because you personally think they're too dry?

Probably one of the best books I've ever read. You could also read The Sound and the Fury and Absalom! Absalom!, by William Faulkner, since they're connected. I couldn't finish the second one... But it's impressive to read them, if that's what you're going for. Edit: Just looked at my copy of TSatF and it's over 300 pages. It's not that hard to read but kind of hard to understand without some help.

![]() If you do choose something Tom Clancy-ish, I suggest Goliath by Steve Alten. 500 pages.

![]() Try the Temeraire series, a good dragon book. Bestseller I think too.

![]() I can't read a series. I'm assuming this is some kind of book report type assignment.

![]() Sorry I'm not much help. Clancy is alot of politics and stuff, if you're into that kind of thing. If not, I'm trying to think of something else...

![]() It's okay.
![]() I've written down everyone's suggestions and I'll be asking my English teacher which she thinks I should read tomorrow. Keep suggesting if you want. |
