My dad used to tell me stories of how when he would go jeeping at this one place the warmest it would be the whole time he was there was -40. Commonly it would get to -70. At least once a year. Quite ridiculous if you ask me.

I used to chill in the colorado mountains swimming in springs while it was around 10 Fahrenheit. Pretty damn cold man, a nice place to chill out.

-45 C I think. I recall it because the city was shut down for the day. Exposed skin freezes in around 2 minutes or less at that temperature, so it was deemed too dangerous to be outside.
Also, car engines can't start past -40 unless you're using special antifreeze so it's not like anyone could go anywhere anyway unless they had a garage. Quote:
Actually, IIRC only in Antarctica has the temperature fell below -70. D: I personally wouldn't want to be around. If the buildings weren't properly fitted the pipes would freeze and the building would turn into an ice cube XD

For me, outside playing in the backyard with -50 degrees (celsius) and a few feet of snow on the ground. Yep, that's Alberta for ya.

Yeah, in Memphis 20 F is some of the coldest you will see in winter.
A few years back we had a nice ice storm, left a half foot thick of ice everywhere, and it was around 10F I think. That's when me and my brother got out the bike, scooter, and roller blades and started seeing how far we could/slide before we fell...pretty fun stuff. Gotta understand, ice in Memphis is like a miracle in itself. So that half a foot of ice was like, WTF do we do with this? |

I don't know how cold it was, but everything had a thick layer of ice on it.

A lot of you Canadians are full of **** or are exaggerating.
No one goes outside in anything lower than -40 degrees F, let alone play in snow and stuff. Stop acting so tough : ( |

Where I live, the weather's not that extreme. The coldest weather I can recall was on a ski trip to Lake Tahoe. It was about ten degrees Fahrenheit.

Oh, I'm sure some the temperatures are true, but people are posting stuff like
"I wear shorts!" "I play in it!" "My sweat melts the frozen weak Americans!" "Look how tough and cool I am" It's a little ridiculous. |

Well those people can freeze to death. :/
The only reason I had to go outside for a while today was because my classes aren't all in one building. I have to run from place to place around campus. |

I had to wait for the bus at less than -30 degrees celcius (windchill...) with only a sweater on. It sucked...
