My friend picked this game up, and as soon as he told me about it, I went straight to his house. Here are my thoughts:
Pros: Game interface looks real nice and organized in my point of view. Very enjoyable on all instruments, because it's somewhat satisfying to know that you can sing or drum to some of these rock songs. And, it's loads of fun to play with 3 or more people. Song list is pretty good IMO also. Cons: Timing window seems a little bit too tight, and for songs that have constant 16th notes (like Run to the Hills; drums and guitar, or Green Grass and High Tides, guitar), are really hard to keep up with in certain sections. Grading scale is a bit too easy to 5 star, one person can completely fail out, and it's still possible to 5 star a song. I still think this game is a step in the right direction as far as music games go, but a second release in this series should be a must to fix some of these small issues. I still like this game more than GH3, but not by much since I'm the crazy guitarist who likes to play Slayer and Iron Maiden songs. |
