Alright...I have a sore throat and what ever that stupid dangling thing in the back of your throat is, thats swollen and inflamed. My question to you is, what do you use to fix a sore throat? I'm willing to try just about anything that isn't outrageous, and I only want serious answers please, my throat is really killing me. Thanks

Search around for some solutions on the internet. You're bound to find something useful there.
Try gargling with saltwater. Or get some over-the-counter cold medicine or see your GP if it's really bothering you. Other than that, you just gotta suck it up.

They're called tonsils. You can have them surgically removed if you have frequent issues with them.
Otherwise, benzocaine will alleviate the symptoms (numb your throat) and can be found in a number of over the counter throat medicines and cold liquids (and if you're not producing phlem or have a cough, you can eat some ice cream or any other frozen novelties) will do a little more of the same to ease the pain. Take a lot of vitamins and water and if it is persistant, you'll have to go to the doctor for antibiotics in the case of infections such as strep throat. Are there white spots at the back of your throat or on the tonsils? If so, that is strep and you should just go to the doctor. It is going around right now, so it's a good possibility.
