...and turned the speakers on and I'm 10x worse at FFR now
![]() With my headphones I can't even hear the keystrokes, but with them off it sounds like I'm slamming my hands into the keyboard and I just miss notes and get much worse PA (not that my PA is great in the first place). Is it better to practice with speakers on? |

I tried that -- I think its the fact that I can hear my fingers at all.

I always play with headphones on. It drowns out the sound of my idiotic sister...

Odd considering in some cases I do better with no sound at all (Games We Played 2, Lethal Injection).

I only play without speakers or sound for songs that are extremely off-beat like Hellbeat. It doesn't mess me up to play without headphones, but I find I get better PA with sound, even if it is slightly off, because then I mentally adjust to the delay.
Although (off topic), being able to adjust to sound delay sucks when you're trying to make a well-synced stepfile... you adapt to the wrong speed, and make stepfiles with the wrong sync... if that made any sense.

I always play with speakers. The key clicks are like an assist tick, and I can actually hear if I'm going offbeat.

I play with awesome headphones really bring out the base so the song sounds crystal clear. I also play with no sound at all. Sometimes just the sound of my fingers hitting the keys helps me keep my combo. But I only play like that at school.

I play headphones and it increases my accuracy by a little. Maybe this isn't true, but it feels like I do better with headphones on. I still result in going with no headphones because my computer has a better sound system. Good thing I'm getting expensive headphones for Christmas. ![]() |
