i understand that people get eliminated every round...doesnt matter...but 87 tiers poitns WHOOOOPPIEE!!!!...compared to ppl in my division...couplea hundred...ppl in lower divisions have more than me...but w/e iz cleva...if no 1 submits...i can get by the doodoo song

I think someone needs to make a "big" tourney like this, only instead of giving 200k credits to the winner (I mean really, what do you need with more than "enough to play every secret song plus the next one when it comes out") have prizes that actually cascade down past the top 3. I mean, if your category has like 60+ people in it, knowing that only three of them will get prizes (And we can pretty much all find three people we know for a fact will beat us in our division) is a pretty strong incentive to just not submit any scores at all.

With a 1.5M pot of credits, is there really a compelling reason not to have prizes down to top 8, or even top 16? They don't need to be -big- prizes, but knowing that you have a better chance at prizes encourages more people to actively try, and thus compete, and make it a lot more fun and intense of a competition. I mean, you've got

as the total pots. You could break down even top X finishes like:
