I use WASD + the 4 arrow keys, using just the middle finger on each hand.
So it's kinda like index, but it allows me to do crossovers without my hands jumbling up.

I used to play like that, too and for the same reason, lol.
I don't really see anything wrong with it unless you're trilling jacks. The reason I don't see anything wrong with it is that this setup allows you to do what your feet could do easier than trying to cross over your hands (not that I play that way anymore ).Edit: I've always wanted to make a 12"x12" 'dance' pad for my hands.
