And yes realism in games is fun sometimes, but games are supposed to be ways to escape from reality, which is why games should have things like morphing guns, mushrooms that give you powers, the ability to jump 2 to 3 times in the air, and invincibility cheats *nods*

Hey, it seems that there's alot of misinformatin going on. I'm not going to even try to touch it. As for games being as "real" as they can be, the only games I'd say fall under that category are some of the tom clancy's and a half-life mod called Hostile Intent.

The fps-knockers havn't been playing the right fpses. And no, they're definitley NOT all the same. (ps, my favorite is an fps/rts hybrid called Natural-Seletion--several others on this board play it as well)

Why not play one of those MMOFPSRPGOMGIJUSTBUTTFUCKEDADONKEY games? They've got everything for someone and something for everyone.
LOL!
What he means is MMORPG, massively multiplayer online role playing game. It's got something that everyone likes. Try Runescape or Risk Your Life, they are both free. Google it because I dont think I can post em here.
No, I know what I meant and I don't mean an MMORPG. I mean an MMOFPSRPGOMGIJUSTBUTTFUCKEDADONKEY game.

FPS games aren't boring. They're the least boring genre. RPGs you sit and wait for a random encounter, wait for your little gauge to fill up, hit 2 buttons, watch a character attack, repeat. Boring. RTS games you move guys around and they shoot. Lots of explosions (sometimes) but you're still not as in control. FPS games you're constantly doing something. Running here, shooting this, doing that. Especially online, there's nonstop action. I like other genres too, but I don't see how you can say any FPS game is boring. Okay, I take that back. Some of the "realistic" FPS games are boring, and not fun. That's why you play action-packed stuff like UT2k4. THAT game is awesome.

I still to this day play Perfect Dark now and then. That's such a great game (though the story could have been better).

Unreal Tournament. Don't trust 99% of what Moogy says. If you haven't heard of UT you should be shot with a biorifle.

And sci-fi FPS games aren't always best. Just look at Halo; that game sucked compared to other FPS games. Also, look at Battlefield 1942. Fun ass game, just because you get to fly planes and strafe the lil boats and they can't do shit to stop you! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I know, I pmed him a while ago saying the name was stupid but I've seen worse. Anyway thanks for telling me. I played Multiplayer(meaning not online, but with other people) Unreal Tournament, but no one called it UT.

its all about the variety, companies think that if a War-type FPS is popoular, they can make one for every war ever, changing only the battle field and maybe gun picks if you're lucky to match the time period. At least futute ones are (most of the time) more creative.

The one FPS that I NEVER got sick of was Goldeneye for the N64. If I had nothing better to do, I'd pop Goldeneye in and start playing. One of the best parts was the replay value of the game, because once you beat everything on 00 Agent, you could mod the enemies to have as much health as you want, and make them as smart as you want. And how the missions change as you change difficulties, I NEVER got tired of that. Not to mention, the guns were really fun to use. Moonraker Laser/Grenade Launcher, anyone?

Can we forget Counter Strike. that game owns!!

Now they are going to make the game even more realistic. www.csnation (Go to CS: Source at the top and get a video)

If you've played CS 1.5 or 1.6, and look at the videos and see the difference. Holy crap.

Anyways, FPS are even more realistic now and its less fun because you need someone to play to play with. Get a friend and shoot their balls (in the game of course) or play online
