customstuff - That sounds pretty cool!
robertsona - Incredibly short simfiles isn't really a good idea. hi19hi19 however got lucky to get Excite Bike in the game. If it's a decent file then there's a small chance it will get in.

Working on Peter Lorre Overture and some really long-named song by bandits of the acoustic revolution. waiting for talisman to help with syncing. (I see you reading this).

Actually you could approximate 18ths/36ths (like in Amefuri Koneko and Ruins) on SM by rounding to the nearest 192nd note, but it's a ton of work and makes the file ugly and hard to read, especially in FFR. That's why they use syncopated BPMs, as you should too, cryx.

I have 18ths in a file in this batch. They just turn out white.

You can have any tuplet you want. Heck, if you really wanted to, you could put 31ths or 147ths in a song. So to say that a certain tuplet doesn't exist is wrong.
In SM, there are several ways to step unusual tuplets, and in most cases, you just have to figure out what the correct BPM proportion should be so that it is easiest to read. If it's just a few notes, then you can just step them with rainbow colors, but generally you'd do something about the BPM. Actually, just evenly divided tuplets is extremely basic rhythm theory. Wait until you start learning about ratios with nested tuplets and appogiaturas. lol EDIT: Oh yeah, didn't Tass say he didn't want anyone banned to have a file in game? What if some step author did something bannable? (Not saying I'd do something, but just asking.)

The easiest way to step 67ths on 329874ths or whatever, is to do it in notepad. Say you want 23rds (dunno why you would). You would go to the measure where you want those 23rds, and replace whatever is in the measure with 23 rows of "0000". Then, you would step whatever the 23rds but not any other rhythm. From there, go back into SM, hit reload from disk, and then step the rest of the measure. The weird rhythms will be green in SM and white on FFR.

Rant below.
Tass is horrible at figuring out when to release files. After monitoring the batch and playing the files on FFR, I noticed a pattern. He releases when necessary (this includes widgets) and adds songs that maintain song and step consistency from the rest of FFR, except for when someone such as jimerax, Rebirth, hi19hi19, SulferDragon, or ElectricWerewolf steps something. (I do believe that's everyone that belongs in my desciption.) He should be releasing files inconsistently, picking songs that step beyond FFR's normal expectations, and quickly adding whatever is extremely good. Take Nanatsuropanda for example. At the time of submission, it may have been the best file on FFR, but after many many batches, it still rests in the queue, where now it will go unrecognized, a great file wasted. Tass should think more about what he is releasing. Making good files is half of it, but if it is added to the game at the wrong time, it makes no difference. I may not be great with words, but this is generally my argument. Hopefully now that I've put the idea out there, Tass will consider it and take action.

read me like a book, but I don't need to redeem myself, I'm already highly respected here
although my rant really is true though, I've been closely following the batch and in-game files for a while now, suspected something like this from the start also paranoia is a good file, it's just too easy for anyone to notice

Nanairo Panda is a really old file in the queue now.
Nanairo Panda (32bit full color MIX) is cooler though. |

i'm glad you see the pattern. because i pick songs randomly...
a while ago, i'd take oldest songs in the queue and add those, making sure not to add 2 songs by the same stepfiler too close to each other (or by the same artist). after the 2 massive simfile releases (the skill token one and the subscriber one), i stopped doing this and started doing it randomly. randomly how? either i'll use random.org or i'll ask someone (like sprite, DSC, or whorli) to pick numbers between 1-x. if what they pick are all by the same person or some other such thing, i'll move either 1 up or 1 down, based upon what i think is the best choice. so, yes. i'm glad you see a pattern when there isn't one, when all you're doing is complaining that your files aren't getting in the game fast enough. well WAH. don't think i've got anything else to say on the subject. edit: and widget files don't count... given how they aren't part of the normal batch process and are therefore handled completely separately.
