Disagreements:

Toph's OP Remix shouldv'e been accepted. The first 15 seconds of the song is pretty quiet, I know, but I can still clearly hear everything. Everything is correct in the song

101 Kittens (bmah) - Thought it was loads better than stargroup's

jx and i both thought stargroups was better. i found it much more fun to play, which was my criteria. also, i turned my speakers up for playing toph's op and still couldn't hear 60% of it.

stargroup: lol, guess that's what happens when you re-submit things... they get played a 2nd time and errors start popping up.

eastsideman: yes... you can submit the cut, as long as the arrows stay the same, just shortened.

Here's the breakdown of our 101 Kittens files:

stargroup:
+ Stepped beginning
+ Index-biased, easier to read
+ Sync is better (experimental arrow colors)
+ Fully step sounds and rhythms
- Some areas are random
- Voicing is kinda screwed in some places

bmah:
+ Innovative layering technique
+ Wonderful voice selections
+ Fun patterns
- Got lazy in certain places, fillers
- Sync is off in a few places
- Inconsistent

Both files are cool in their own way. In all honesty, you can't really say which is better because it's like comparing apples and oranges. ALTHOUGH, a collab would be incredibly sick...

That's pretty much all anyone can really say about these files.

Still think it's unfair. Whatever, wasn't a note-worthy file anyways, just a jumpstream study.

He's kinda busy, and hasn't responded to a file I asked him to test about a month ago, but recognizes that he hasn't forgotten.

Or I could do all the dirty work.

The most interesting thing, and I've mentioned this once or twice, this file was submitted to Tass about... 8 months ago? Guess. Rejected. lmao

WaveRip(remastered) (Silvuh) [+?] - weird stream, going for so PR? and felt the first half has almost no doubles, should be more
Waverip: +?
- This sim has a lack of jumps where jumps are needed. I don't get that, since your sims always have plenty of jumps in them but this one doesn't. Add jumps to the accented notes
PR? And, yeah... I had one of those dumb fits. Haha... But I put jumps back on the chords. I didn't change the patterns much, but I believe I have the ... more right amount of jumps now.
Quote:
Into the Night: +?
- We already have a simfile for Into the Night in the queue. Its a different song, so I'm not sure what to do about this. If we allow multiple songs with the same title, then I accept this sim
Into the Night (Silvuh) [?] - a bit gap off, weird 32nd patterns, overall song is repetitive
Put the song author's name after the song name? And... Yeah, I should just remove the 32nds, really... too much for a song of that difficulty? ... And I've always had my "repetitive song = repetitive steps" theory, so... uhm... I'm not sure what to do about that issue.
Quote:
Quickdraw (Silvuh) [+?] - felt a bit overdone at parts(32nd burst/doubles)/has pot 3-framer (damn 1337 thing), rhythms are overall ok though
Heheh, sorry, I couldn't resist. I ended the steps with 1335, and was, like, "eh, Il'l just add two more..." Once again, I'll remove the 32nds. There was one part where I know I can remove the jumps... and...
Should I not step the back beat? Make the only hard part of the song the streams?
I made the hard version better and I have an new, easier version, but I'm not sure which to send in. I thought... with the hard stream, it would feel odd if it goes easy, hard, easy, hard..
Quote:
Otter's Dance (Hotroot Mix) (Silvuh) [+?] - 32nd rhythm/pattern
Are the 32nds the only part I need to change? Does that include those single 32nds (where they go to the ... drum whatever not at the streams) and should I remove those?
Quote:
Lover Reef: +
- After looking at this simfile, I finally completely understand silvuh's stepping style. Wow lol
Lover Reef (Silvuh) [+] (8) - a bit weird double placement tho (YN ones, I know he put them on BDs)
Wow lol.
Meep, two more two-letter acronyms I haven't heard before.

And as for Shind Bad... Rawr, I've just been trying to get this one in, 'cause I worked on it before Rebirth posted saying he was stepping it... And... I just thought it'd be really neat to get a good DJ Sharpnel file in, to, y'know, continue trying to make up for past ... generally-disliked files, haha. But anyway, I feel like this is one of the times I truly edited the file. I changed a lot of the patterns to make them more "correct", I attempted making things more index-friendly... I changed one part almost completely, and... Yeah... Sorry if you think I'm becoming a nuisance by trying to get this file in.

And I don't care about Dragonic Rage anymore, hahah. And.. I'm even more clueless about Vertex Beta. I'll try to fix it up.

You didn't play one of my files even though Rebirth +d. (JX and rebirth didn't say the same thing about it either). No matter though, I resubmitted with what JX told me to do.

Happy Gang Bang!: +?
- man i love gang bangs this simfile must be cool then
- Actually it needs a few less 16ths. Its pretty nice but a few less 16th streams would make the file perfect, because some of the 16ths you placed aren't in the music, and felt like you put them there just to continue the streams

Happy Gang Bang!-(behanjc) [+?] - a bit inconsistent double placement

During the beginning portion of the song, the melody is almost all 16ths, and the 4ths and 8ths are what continue the stream, and they follow the percussion. During the massive jumpstream part, the 16ths aren't always melody but the percussions is constant. I used a 16th jump where the melody and percussion overlapped and a single tap when the melody was not present or very weak. It seems as if this satisfies both the inconsistent double placement and too many 16th notes. As for the regular jumps, since the melody is almost all 16ths in the beginning, when it did land up on an 8th or 4th, I made it a double because it overlapped with the percussion.

Is there any part in particular you can remember where the 16th notes should not be present, where the jumps are inconsistent? Thanks.

im still kind of wandering why Spoonography 2 was not in that batch lol :P i posted it before the last batch had been reviewed. So, its either in the Next batch along with 2 other files that will be in there, or someone forgot to play it lol.

I really laughed at the things stargroup said about bmah's 101 Kittens (or whoever said that and then stargroup posted).

Yay my first file got in.
So files need to be in by midnight tomorrow (or I guess today if it's that late).

Oh to all those out there that think they need to have stepped an assload of files:

Endless Altercation was maybe my 4th or 5th attempt at stepping any file whatsoever (first attempt for FFR, actually), and my first file that I've ever fully completed. It's really not about how many files you stepped, it's about how much effort you put into it. Taking into account, of course, FFR's engine and stuff.

Took me like 3 hours to make, ~1.5 hours to make bigger changes, and then ~.5 hours to revise after my first submission (I changed more than just the green jumps).
