Hey everybody. In the spirit of the up coming holiday I figured I would start a thread dedicated to ghosts and ghost stories! Please post any ghost pics you have and if possible a brief description. There is one image in particular I am looking for. It is of a family in what seems to be a New England town on a dock or harbor. In the background is a woman in what seems to be clothing of the revolutionary times. However this woman has no legs and seems to be bleeding from her waist, where the legs look to be severed. If anyone has this pic in particular please opst it. Thanks everyone.

I actually do have a ghost story. I made the post a while ago, but I'll go back and repost when I find it.

Great thread, I have all sorts of great ghost stories myself, in fact, I saw something this morning flashing in my bathroom,
I turned the light on, and there was nothing there I supposed it was a ghost orb doing whatever it pleases Anyways, Does anybody have any good links to ghost vids? |

Also, night vision works best when you're not looking directly at the thing. This means that if there is a small bit of light (such as a LED) and you try to look at it, it may appear to disappear, yet when you don't look directly at it, you can see it. Something to do with rods and cones and the fact that whichever functions in darkness is offcenter. I think I have the best story though. Doesn't involve darkness or anything that could have been just in my head. I must have been like 8~10 years old. I awoke in the middle of the night to find the lights on in the living room. Not an uncommon occurence these days, but it was very rare for it to happen back then, so naturally, I thought something was up. So I go out to the living room and look around and there is no one out there. Apparently the lights were on and everyone was in bed. But wait... the refridgerator door is wide open. It was one of those ones with the fridge on bottom and the freezer on top. Anyway, I go over because I figure that someone was just crouched down looking in the fridge and as I get near the fridge, close enough to begin to see that no one was behind the door looking inside, the door closes. I've got a few other things, but they all involve things that could have just been my imagination and tricks of light. Things like seeing outlines of people in the darkness, "shadows" of light taking on the appearance of a silloutte of a person projected on the wall, hearing sounds when there is no way for the sound to have been made. Actually, there are a lot of sound ones... Things like being able to distinctly hear certain video game music clear on the other side of the house, but if it's investigated, the source is clearly not even powered up and by the time you get out to check on it, the sound has already dissipated. Oh and keyboard clacking... for a while, when my bedroom was the front bedroom (it's the back one now), I'd hear what appeared to be the sound of someone typing away on the keyboard in the living room, but if I got up to check it out, the sound stopped. Oh and on a few occasions when I was in the front bedroom, I had been awoken by the sound of a cat scratching on my door... this wasn't uncommon because we have/had multiple cats and they often slept in my room only to get locked up when I went to bed for the night, but occasionally, I would get up to let them out after hearing the scratching and there would be no cats in my room and there wouldn't even be any cats nearby around my room (ie they might have been scratching to get in). Oh yeah and basically every picture taken in my current bedroom (the one in the back) has "orbs" in it. This could be dust though...? Not sure the common explanations on orbs. |

To Afrombean,
Yeah I get those weird orbs on my flash when I take the picture too, it can sometimes be just the reflection off something, or just a light that got in the picture somehow idk. There's been a lot of weird stuff that's happened in the past in my house that keeps me thinking that ghosts do exist. One night, I came home from one of my friends house, and saw a weird grey thing on my oven, it must've been a split second and then it jumped off. There was nothing found on the ground. Another night, this was actually pretty recent, The fire alarm went off in the hallway, everyone was going to bed, it was about 10:00pm. Nobody had any candles lit or any gases or smoke running. How many times does a smoke alarm glitch? I remember when I was in my bed one night, and I really wanted to see a ghost, so I recall yelling at my room in the dark saying, "Come on mother ****er" and other curses. All of a sudden, a figure that I couldn't make much out of got right up in my face. I realized not to mess with the dead after that, I slept under my blanket the entire night, more scared than shocked. |

I suppose how you could interact with "ghosts" depends entirely on what you happen to think ghosts are. The unquiet spirits of the dead probably aren't to keen on striking up a friendship, though since there's no actual proof of souls, souls persisting after death, or things that died not being dead, I'm not exactly sure I go with that one :P

you think the ghosts are all playful and nice eh? That's what you think until one grabs you by the neck and throws you at the wall, and then leaves your room to take a piss with the toilet seat down and forgets to flush.
